10Not only is it nice to hear back from old characters (Taylor from 'The Ordinary Us' & Luke from 'Dessert Dropping'), but the writing is excellent and this story stands on it's own.More Reviews2009/01/04
10When I first started reading, I was really wondering what the other reviewers were talking about, because I didn't see this as that great of a story. But by the end I was hoping for it to never end. I think the mark of a good story is one that can evoke emotions from its readers and this story certainly did that. There were times I was cried, times I laughed, and times I had to get up and walk away from the computer because I couldn't believe how stupid the characters were being. I certainly had a few of my own views and values questioned and put into perspective as I read this, and that's another thing that I look for in a good story. This wasn't a quick read, but I know it'll be one of the few that I remember years from now.More Reviews2009/01/04
9I'm not one to do the whole water-works thing, but this story had me in tears several times. I loved the previous "Do Over" story and look forward to finishing this one and the series. This is the one of the first romance stories that i have read online that i would purchase in book form so i could read it at any time. Not just at my computer. My hat's off to you. ...Now i got more reading to do and i wish you a successful career. More Reviews2009/01/01
10A fantastic story. It should be required reading in High School. And it is a great read at any age. Maybe the best gay story I've ever read.More Reviews2008/12/31
10The Bully is one of the best stories I have read on this site or on Nifty in a long time. I has a believable plot, a good story line and a valuable message, is written in a clear, fluent style and makes the reader want for more.More Reviews2008/12/23

10Developed around the contrast between loving someone and being in love with someone, The Road Home provides a set of complex characters who are extremely funny and convincingly tender. Its construction of a group of guys -- straight, as well as gay -- allows for a diverse ensemble of characters that I've found only in the most appealing TV sitcoms or Hollywood films. At the same time, the motivations and emotions of these characters has more depth than most TV sitcoms would allow. Only its theme that love can completely redeem even the most tormented of personal histories pushses the limits of plausibility, much as this reader would want such perfect redemption to be possible. Reading The Road Home, I laughed, I cried, I learned, and -- even after 50 chapters and an epilogue -- I didn't want it to end.More Reviews2008/12/18

10Previous to reading this, I had not read more than a short story in Ann McCafrey's Dragon Rider's series. Dan did an amazing job bringing the world to life and now I'm interested in checking out the source material in more detail. This story is emotional and touching.More Reviews2008/12/14
8Plenty of twists and turns, moments in this story left me at a loss for words and emotion.More Reviews2008/12/12

9 All of the usual "Gabriel" elements, high-quality writing with keenly perceptive and sensitive character development, are magnified here in the intensely personal perspective of each of the two characters in turns. Everything I love about his work, with the lights turned up bright. More Reviews2008/12/12

10This story (initial and this current one) is a wonderful weaving of people, emotions and ideas. Ultimately, though the people and their emotions drive the engine, the ideas that surround everything become paramount, for me. Thank you for writing this tale.More Reviews2008/12/08
9I'm really enjoying the style of writing which kind of forces you to continue to read, even though I maybe have not been interested in this type of story in the past. At this point, I have a strange feeling if it should be posted at GA, but I'm sure the author has some surprises for us to come. I'm actually following this story pretty close and wait anxiously for new chapter releases.More Reviews2008/12/07
9Captivating in a subtle way: it has gotten under my skin & I eagerly -- and a bit impatiently -- await the next chapter. I keep wanting to ask questions to and about Dalen in particular, and the Vale that is his new home is especially intriguing. Thanks!More Reviews2008/12/06
10It has been years since I have read any of Mercedes Lackey's stories of the Herald Mages, yet "Tests of Blood" reopened that world to me in the first few paragraphs. Dalen (the likelly protagonist...I've not read past Chapter 1, yet) and his mother became real very quickly. Dalen's father and his relationship with Prince Dellinar promise to bring a degree of complexity into the story. The tension between Dalen's desires and his likely destiny is delicious. The first chapter introduces many possible plot points and conflicts that are so much more tantalizing than a cliffhanger. More Reviews2008/12/02
10A beautiful story about love, new, tested, timid, challenged, pure, and true above all else.More Reviews2008/12/01
10This is a great story. I especially like the King Rorthar and Bart. If I had a wish, I'd ask that someone tell me how to pronounce all the Clans, Other Worlds, and regions. Thank you for sharing your work.More Reviews2008/11/30

10A great followup to ASP and C5. The weaving of the story seems like watching a living tapestry unfold. It left me very sad about Paula, even Nick, Jacob and Susan, and especially Eugene, though.More Reviews2008/11/01
10Nice followup to ASP...a good plot and a good read. Wonderful creativity, just wish it didn't have to end.More Reviews2008/11/01
10I have been reading several stories via the links at gayauthors.org, with quite a voracious appetite for the written word, and read ASP in about a 1 1/2 week timeframe. It really struck a chord, emotionally, as I have gone, in the last 36 years, from thinking of suicide to being quite recently happily married here in sunny California to my partner of the last 15 years. A Special Place not only captures the reader with expert cliffhangers and plot twists, it toys with the emotion--rather: emotions--and draws you into the story as an observer hidden from view. Its versatility expresses the desperation of deep despair, sorrow, panic, anger, excitement, the grief of trying to reconcile with one's chosen religion when your faith's core beleifs are challenged by simple, honest logic, the pride of friendship, the bonds of Family and of Belonging, the hope and sadness of redemption and failure, and the overriding reason we go through all of it with Hope, Love. It is without any doubt in my mind, whatsoever: Brilliant!More Reviews2008/10/29
10It took some getting used to--that is reading the story as journals--but it was so powerful that I couldn't stop reading until I'd finished, by which time I was drowning myself in tears.More Reviews2008/10/22
10Amazing story! Loved every minute of it. Can't wait to read more.More Reviews2008/10/20

9This is Tiff's best story yet, Life doesn't always have happy endings or happy at all, We see two people going thru, hardships, one from a divorce with a kid, and a young adult abuse as a kid. More Reviews2008/10/07

8A wonderful coming out tale. I fell in love with Quinn and Jude. This is a story full of honesty and truth, and I've returned to read it more than once. For all the trials and pain that the characters endure, there's also growth and change and an ending that satisfies the romantic in me. Highly recommended. More Reviews2008/10/06
10I've read this story many, many times over the years, and it never disappoints. If you're a Harry/Draco fan, it's not to be missed. Well-plotted and full of emotion, it's a beautiful love story that touches on what it means to be a hero -- and a hero's lover. This is one of my favorite MA fanfics. More Reviews2008/10/06

9This is a good story. There is only one problem. There's not enough of it! I look forward to reading more, because this story has so much potential. Keep bugging the boss guys! He needs to finish this one! More Reviews2008/09/30
10Pity there isn't a score of 11. Brilliant series - I was so wishing Marc out of the scene and that final reconciliation/whatever! What happened in "Carter's Rebellion"? Where is it!!??!! Blake and Yoni('Johnny' in his witness Protection ID?), Will and Andrew, West and Peter, Marc and his 'love' in a foursome mass wedding after Gay Marriage is legalised thanks to the vote of Deputy PM Carter? Come on - all I see is the title of thestory and two red asterisks, plus "Due in 2006" and it is 2008 when I find the series. But, at least it ends the way it should - just where it began, with the two together. Ugh, I've become a romantic!!More Reviews2008/09/24
