A beautiful tale with a delightful twist at the end.

I have to admit to recalling a statement from the musical Into The Woods which also follows what happens after certain fairytales finish. In that musical there was also a Prince Charming who strayed. His justification?

"I was raised to be Charming, not sincere."

It is sad to realise how many Prince Charmings turn out to be less than they first appeared. :(

I originally thought the method of telling was just a cute trick, though one that suited the genre, but the ending took me by surprise and wrapped up the story beautifully. :)

I had to feel sorry for Cinderella, though. She certainly hadn't had a good life, even with the help of a fairy godmother. The first generation couldn't stay 'happily ever after'. I'm hoping the second generation will have a fairy tale ending.... B)

Congratulations, Bardeara -- a very, very worthy fairy tale. :worship:

Bravo! Im so mad at myself for not reading this sooner!

I clapped at the end, just so you know. Marvelous!

There are a lot of worthwhile stories in the past anthologies :) This is one of my favourites from the Fairy Tale anthology  Bardeara isn't online very much at the moment, but I'm sure he'll see this when he is. If not, I'll make sure to let him know.
