Sebastian is an interesting story set in (for me) an exotic location -- Argentina.

I will confess that I've seen the complete story, and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is yaalc's first story, but one that I think shows a lot of promise for the future. smile.gif
Ieshwar
Great start! The first chapter hooked me up and I'm waiting for the second one. Are we going to see more spanish talking in the future chapters? Hope it's kept basic as in the first chapter. The characters are really interesting; excited to know more about them!

Tough situation for any 14 year old to be in.

What's up with dad here? Sean is definitely going to need friends. Let alone the fact that he's trying to learn a new language, for teenagers, friends are their whole world...well, a very big part of it.

I'm curious as to why the newspaper boy suddenly went sullen. Are tips an insult? blink.gif

Ok, I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction. Ready? Sean is gay! tongue.gif I love it when I take risks like that!

Thanks, yaalc. Looking forward to more!

Conner
yaalc
hmm I based Sean on myself growing up. I explain it in one of the chapters. I figured out I was gay just after moving to a new city. I was so afraid of someone finding out that I isolated myself from almost everyone. I went years without a 'real' friend. I had aquaintences at school but never hung out after school with anyone. Anyway that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! innocent.gif

You'll find out more in coming chapters.

Like Graeme, I too have seen and read this first story of Ray's. He also has another story that he's been working on and maybe he'll get around to finishing at some point. Hint, Hint. And post it as well.

Jan
Ieshwar
Great chapter though I missed the newspaper boy. biggrin.gif The story is becoming more and more interesting. In a school where you can't talk to most of the pupils, unaware of their way of life and so on. I have never seen this and excited to read the future chapters.

Conner, I think that in the first chapter, when Sean gave him the tip, the boy was quite hurt. I mean, they were really friendly and perhaps, the tip reminded him their status difference and brough back bad memories (but it wasn't Sean's intention) Am I right, Yaalc? He was an immensely adorable guy, though. Want to know more about him!

When will you post the third chapter?

Ieshwar
yaalc
It's actually only 10 chapters long (someone I won't say who, thinks I forced the ending a bit) but I plan on one a week. so every Monday.

Umm you're on the right trackish Ieshwar but you won't find out for sure until chapter 4.
Conner
For me, one correct prediction per story is enough. tongue.gif My streak is now at....well...1.

Sounds like you're on the right track, Ieshwar. It makes sense to me.

I don't know about the English classes. It's more likely that Sean will spend a lot of time helping the other students with their English. No, that's not a prediction....unless I'm right. cool.gif It will certainly help his comfort level, though.

I definitely know who he is! laugh.gif He does have a bad habit of being honest all the time! tongue.gif

Three words came to my mind after reading the third chapter: I want more! (I know I have to wait till Monday!)

Great chapter as usual. I would like to know more about Ricky. I feel like we know very few about him. I know that he's not the main character but I really LOVE him. He sounds so cute! And hot too, I admit.

What does 'Da nada' means? It seems like 'you're welcome'. Am I right?

It always sucks to be the new guy. Especially if you don't know their language.

Waiting for more.

I could be wrong, but I think it means, "it's nothing," or, "there's none."

BTW, I can definitely tell you all that the remaining chapters are well worth the wait, but I won't tell you how I know

Hey! What am I, chopped liver??? mad.gif

Btw, that's a rhetorical question! tongue.gif I'm having a bad day and cannot deal with the truth right now! sad.gif

So, how do I become part of the cool 'in' crowd?

I would venture to say to say, that Nick and Camy have read the full story. I know I have since I did the edit for it.

Actually, I held my head against my moniter and used osmosis to figure it out read.gif read.gif read.gif
Ieshwar
Really, Nick? Last time I checked, words on the screen weren't small molecules and the monitor wasn't a selectively permeable membrane! Is that the deed of those two Jedi's on your avatar? I knew they looked suspicious...

Don't worry, Conner. We'll wait each week for a new chapter of Sebastian. Nick and Camy can't understand the thrill and joy of reading a chapter after one week's wait. tongue.gif (to Nick and Camy) Anyway, patience is a virtue.

Meanwhile, waiting for a new chapter...

I gotta be quick here as I'm doing a quick post from work, I spent the weekend in Vegas or I would have taken more time. I get to go home and work on the drip irragation system til I go to bed also!

Chapter 4 is up.

'de nada' literally means of/from nothing really it's just their way of saying thank you.

Most of the people who know what happens in Seba are my beta readers, I'm pretty sure I know how Camy knows but I'm also not saying. tongue.gif

and Ieshwar I'd be careful that Nick has a way of knowing things he shouldn't! ph34r.gif
Ieshwar
Yeh! Yeh! You just can't believe how much I loved this chapter. We saw so much about Ricky. But I'm really sad about him. sad.gif He's such a good guy but his family... Grrr! He's so sweet and cool. I can't believe he said that to Sean. tongue.gif But who's Sebastian?

QUOTE
and Ieshwar I'd be careful that Nick has a way of knowing things he shouldn't!

It's those Jedi in his avatar. They suck information from your head and transfer them to Nick's head. (It's supposedly a secret. Sshhh)

Ieshwar
yaalc
Sebastian is the poor kid, Ricky is Sean's friend
Ieshwar
Ouch! I didn't know that. When I saw that Ricky does part time job too (and he's good-looking too), I assumed that he's my fav paperboy. Silly me. I'm really sorry for this misunderstanding.

By the way, the paperboy has a very sexy name together with his sexy looks. biggrin.gif

Ieshwar
Ieshwar
I just read the 5th chpater and it literally tore me. That's so sad. Life can be so shitty sometimes. I soo wanted to go there and comfort Sebastian. And this chapter help me to clear a few confusions concerning Ricky and Sebastian. Silly me!

So what's next in the story? We're half-way through the plot. So I believe that now Sebastian and Sean are going to friends now...???

Waiting for more as usual!

Ieshwar
Ieshwar
Hi Yaalc!

Can I hug you? Coz that’s an AWESOME chapter! I LOVED it. Things are turning out for the better. And it’s great.

The small tease was very good. I laughed so much. Sad that Seba cried though. But he was happy afterwards. So it’s ok!

I want more!!!!

Ieshwar
Trevor
This is an awesome story and I'm loving it! An american guy in a different country falls in love with a guy he can barely communicate with...its unique and I love uniqueness! I hate the argentina guys family though his mom dad and bros are all b*tches other then that great story and keep it up!
TalonRider
The family adds that touch of realism to the story since some families can be like that.

I think it also shows that love knows no boundaries.

Jan
Ieshwar
And that love isn't restricted by the boundaries of language. I was thinking about it today. The language of love is so powerful that sometimes, it's enough. This reminded me of Sebastian. smile.gif

I would like to see how Yaalc continues this story and brings the fire of love between our fav characters. smile.gif

Ieshwar
Conner
Ok, I'm back and all caught up to c.7. biggrin.gif This story just seems to grow on me. specool.gif

Yes, the quality of Seba's life has certainly been on the upswing....well, until the end of this chapter. sad.gif

His father's comment about Seba being 'worth' more alive than dead totally pissed me off. mad.gif Seba's boss at the bakery certainly had him pegged right.

Great story, yaalc! I'm really enjoying it. So, we're getting close to the "forced" ending, aren't we? tongue.gif Like Seba, I like to tease.

Conner
Ieshwar
Nice chapter! The end was quite disturbing though. sad.gif He certainly doesn't deserve it. Are you sure that it's going to end at the tenth chapter? There seems to be so much more to write.

Ieshwar
TalonRider
I can safely say that chapter 10 is the last chapter.

But is there some sort of chemistry between Sean and Seba? (I was hoping for some) They seem to be just friends right now. We'll see...

I don't think they take the same classes or go to the same school.....at least, not that I know of
Ieshwar
But right now, they do meet regularly during lunch. And they must have been close enough for Sean's father t trust the responsibilty of his house to Seba. At the start, I was thinking they will fall for each other. That's why.

These questions and more, to come.

It's ok, Ieshwar, we all understood you. I believe Nick was feeling playful.

I hate authors. They're all the same. They get you feeling good and then they rip the heart right out of your chest. 2handed.gif

I'm in total shock. sad.gif I can't believe our cute little Seba would have reacted that way. But there it is.

That's chapter 8, btw.

Conner
Ieshwar
I finally know what I hate in this story- Cliffs!

Whoa, glad that Seba’s fine now. But I don’t feel really surprised by Seba’s reaction. (though it was wrong) I mean, Argentina is a very conservative society, isn’t it? And Seba is a poor guy and the only time he had heard about gays, it must have been in hateful comments as in ‘queer’ and ‘fags’. And one day when he wakes up, Sean is feeling him up! He’s right to be scared.

Yes, now I see how the relationship between Sean and Seba is evolving. Hope that everything straightens up.

And a question- has Sean finally known to talk in Spanish? I mean, he called to the clinic and seems to have no difficulty conversing with others.

Great Chapter

Take care,
Ieshwar
wildone
Yaalc,

Great story so far!! tongue.gif

I'm beginning to think that you have used our assumptions that most of the main characters are gay. I believed that Seba was gay, by the comments every time that he met Sean to "suck his cock". Even though we got from Sean's perspective that he was gay and having internal turmoil over it, we never really had that from Seba's perspective. Besides, how many boys haven't actually told their friends to suck their cock and really have no intention of letting them? It is just part of the friendly banter between friends.

I like the way that you have written the two characters having essentially the same experiences, but noticed how you usually gave us Sean's first, and didn't really give us Seba's thoughts second, but a recount of only the facts of what happened instead.

Could this be a classic example of a story of the gay boy falling for the straight boy? I hope not, but if it is then you did a real good job of getting us off track. worshippy.gif

Well I guess I will have to wait to see if Seba's reaction was just the fight or flight instinct, or if he really was offended by Sean's advances and can't forgive him.

Steve
Conner
This story just begs for a sequel! biggrin.gif That's my vote anyway.

I enjoyed the ending very much. I completely bought into Seba's explanation that, due to his childhood trauma and then losing the 2 people who loved and cared for him, some sort of damper had been placed upon his libido. So whether he's gay or straight, their loving relationship has emerged intact. Love is great no matter what form it comes in. wub.gif

Thanks, yaalc. worshippy.gif

Conner
Ieshwar
Yes, it was great! I just loved it. I knew Sebastian was too cute and sweet to break Sean's heart. wub.gif I so love him.

I definitely vote for a sequel too! SEQUEL!!! SEQUEL!!!

Will Yaalc be posting more of his stories here? I hope so. He writes really well!

Ieshwar
wildone
I'll add in my vote too! Sequel Pleeeeeease!!! worshippy.gif

I think Seba had to reach rock bottom to realize he did love Sean in a way that Sean loved him. I can just imagine the confusion of growing up with homophobe brothers and father, and deep down convincing himself that any thoughts were wrong.

I'm curious on how Sean got back to Argentina, and what finally made him go back?

I am pretty sure that this question could be answered in possible future chapters or a sequel tongue.gif Hint, Hint.
