The Reaper
So yo, does anybody here know a cure-all for writers block? Ive been writing this book of poems-that ill let anyone who wants to, read it-but lately i just cant get anything out of my head. Ive tried everything i can think of but it seems as if my brain has run dry.

And idk, the more i go without being able to get anything on paper, the more things get backed up in my head and it causes stress and depression and its not good lol. So if anyone knows a cure for that, i would DEARLY appreciate it

Listen to a song you really like. Then think about the song. How it makes you feel, or anywhere your mind takes you. Sometimes ideas come for me when I do that.

thats funny cus thats what i normally do to write things haha. I listen to a song once, thinka bout it and what it means to me and how it makes me feel, then i listen to it again as i write lol

But hey, my writers block has seemed to go away today, so thank you

You've made my life easy -- now I don't have to come up with a list of suggestions! tongue.gif

There are a lot of things to try, but writer's block is a very personal thing with multiple causes. What works for one person doesn't always work for another.

Good luck!

Hey! I'm glad it worked!

Try running around outside with ice cubes taped to your face, that always helps the ol\' writers block...i think

What, exactly, does that do to cure writer's block?

I'm only guessing, but I think it would take your mind off whatever it is that is causing you problems. It's unusual, sure, but getting over writer's block is a very individual things. It takes all sorts.... tongue.gif

ohmy.gif You mean you've never tried this, Menzo!?!

Why I used to do it two or three times a week when I was taking that intensive creating writing course in college! innocent.gif

Yes, but after your writer's block is cured, you have the dilemma of facial frostbite... and THAT is no fun...

Adrian definitely makes a great point...
But for myself music normally does it.

I just wanted to warn all of you... When old people say you're face will stick like that, they mean it!

The general principle is a lot like the undergarments the pitcher wore in Bull Durham.
