It makes sense that his uncle would want someone to keep tabs on Worthington, nothing too peculiar about that, but in a world where information is of great value, I wonder how Worthington could use this to his advantage. Byron Jones would definitely be interested to know first that someone is impersonating him and possibly deliberately trying to frame him. This alone could be enough to seal an alliance between him and Worthington. Obviously the first thing Joes would want to do is find out who would attempt to drive a wedge between Worthington and himself and he could narrow that down to Worthington's uncle easily enough without Worthington having to tell him how he figured it out.
Then there's the matter of this demon... and a rather nasty one at that.... There's a couple different ways to look at this. One question that might pop up is rather this has anything at all to do with Worthington's uncle. On one hand, its definitely not his style but on the other, demons manifesting on the earth would certainly drive people into his congregation so if he is behind this, I would bet on it being through manipulation and nothing direct. Which brings up another possibility... its possible he manipulated someone into summoning demons and murdering random mundanes and left Byron's signature on the guy he manipulated as well, trying to frame him for it so that when the magical community learned it they would destroy Byron and deny Worthington that resource.
Alternatively there's the possibility that the demon summoning is unrelated, in which case I expect we'll be hearing about some vaguer prophecy to the effect that two adepts separated at birth will come together to save the world from a power rising to upset the balance.
