There is a book called "Holding the Man" by Timothy Conigrave that perhaps we can read whilst waiting for Dom.

Its a true story about a boy who falls in love with the captain of the school football team in Melbourne Australia and tells of their experiences at school and later life including their battles with the dreaded disease of the eighties.

It will have you laughing and crying.

Well worth reading and it is now a play which has just opened in San Francisco

Hahah wooo. Someone else spreading the Holding the Man love. Anyone who's read my last two blog entries knows I went ga ga over this a couple of weeks ago. I've read it twice now. smile.gif

Definitely something for everyone to check out. Just make sure you have tissues.

Believe every word you have read on this book and play - I first read it when the book was first published several years ago and I laugh and cry every time I read it. Tommy Murphy's dramatisation of the book is a joy. It's been on the Sydney stage 4 time sin the last 12 months including a huge season at the Sydney Opera House. (If you see the play wait for the line about asparagus and serving it before certain types of parties.

I urge you all to read the book or see the play

That's great. Shame you have to wait for it though. Make sure when you devour it (because you will), make sure you come and tell us about how it changed your life (again, because it will). smile.gif
