Hi everyone, if you've been wondering what happened to me I was in Colorado for 5 days on fall break I went to with my best friend and his family to their cabin and came out to my best friend's mother who is basically like a second mother to me (sometimes I fell I'm closer with his family then I am with my own) and it went great, I did break one of the rules though I told her while she was driving which was okay because she didn't freak out and was only going like 10mph on a gravel road anyway. She told me she was really glad that I told her and thinks that it's not something you just choose. It only took her like 3 seconds to get used to the idea, and didn't really say to much about it other then asking me how I knew I was gay. She also agrees with me about waiting to tell my parents until I'm out of the house and independant. (She knows my parents really well to and understands how conservative they are) Afterwards she said she'd always love me and be there if I needed someone to talk to. That made me feel good, it was a very positive experiance I feel a lot more peaceful with myself. Anyway I just wanted to tell everyone how it went and encourage everyone to come out to someone they haven't. Thanks

Congratulations! If you're anything like me, just having someone you can talk to about things is going to help big time. Her advice about your parents was great, too smile.gif Good luck with things from this point!

Congratulations to you, dear friend....

How I wish that I could do the same, but unfortunately, there are many like me around the world and in India who would need to wait a few more years after which there would not be that much of discrimination....The change is coming.... smile.gif
