Yes, I read them in June when Dan wrote them but I like to follow along with the discussion about each chater and occasionally contribute my 2 cents

Well... I don't want to speak for everyone, but I'm fairly challenged when it comes to the sneaking so... maybe you could just be clear. You know, like with exact directions to follow Besides... I already tried the one thing I could think of and it didn't work

Okay so... I found it! YAY me right?

So, initially I read this story one day, all 20 chapters that were up, and normally Sci-fi isn't my thing. For some reason I find it hard to wrap my head around all the details, and plot lines, and rules that fit whatever 'race' the story is about, but not in this case, so kudos for that, first of all.

When I finished those 20 chapters and was trying to recover from everything, especially the very emotional part with Jamie and Carl, here came chapter 21, and at this point, I'm proud of Worthington for accepting his abilities and the responsibilities that go along with them. I'm even more excited that he has the abillity to use his situation to possibly end this great feud between the light and dark, or at least create acceptance and tolerance for the other, maybe even some appreciation. That's a heavy load, and it takes a strong person to give that to the world instead of just accept things the way they have always been.

I'm especially touched by the relationship between Jamie and Worthington, both of them so willing to give of themselves and so attached to the other in every way, it's really spectacularly beautiful and not at all selfish. I loved when Jeremy told Worthington/Mikie that he didn't get to decide for him how he would feel about things, and whether or not he could understand and accept all the pieces of his responsibilities.

I can't wait to see what happens next, and I'm excited to watch Worthington grow into exactly what he wants to be, outsmarting his father, his uncle, the school headmaster, and everyone else who thinks they have some claim to his future.

OK, I feel kinda bad for posting this but...

Like many others, I've found the post with the sneak peak of chapter 21. Or at least I think I have. The page say "You MUST be registered and have at least 5 posts in order to read this topic." Given that I am not a regular poster here, I don't have 5 posts. I have however emailed Dan directly with comments and have been reading the weekly releases for around 6 months. I'm left wondering, what is it that is so special about posting to these boards? Why not make the post publicly available since it would have normally been up by now anyways?

Note: This is not meant to be an attack on Dan or anyone else on these boards. I enjoy Dan's fiction and have even come to enjoy some of the commentary posted here about it.

When I responded to DK after reading chapter 21 the first time, here was what I sent him:

I don't know where you are going with the Dwarf thing but it was a shock to my story sensibility and stuck out like a sore thumb to me because everything had been based in modern times and today's reality until that. Okay, now that I'm reading this again, I can see how funny that statement is about 'reality' when we suddenly discover in chapter 3 that Mikie's a mage.

I'm glad that this didn't pan out. As always, DK's storylines are much better than what I think they are going to be. I'll just answer the questions with YES!

Since there aren't any paid staffers, life intrudes every so often and delays happen.

And if you've enjoyed reading the commentary, what's wrong with contributing your two cents as a way of giving back to the community?

I had the same experience as a "newbie". Replies to author blogs and e-mails do not count toward the minimum five posts...only replies to forum topics will count. Just post four more quickly, then read away. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Life's been crazy for both Dan and Myr, and until your post (that I just read out loud to Dan), he didn't realize the chapters hadn't been posted yet. He'll resend them to Myr (who also has been out of town until a couple of days ago), and they should be up soon.

I wanted to add a few other responses, but rather than quote each one, I'll just hit the broad topics.

1) I have not and will not simply post three more pointless messages. I hate this type of spam when I see it on other bulitin boards and I will not contribute to it. I'll just have to get my five posts ligitimately.
2) I probably will not be active on this board, simply due to lack of time. I am generally quite busy, and what little free time I have is spent relaxing (usually reading).
3) I'm quite aware that life happens and that authors have lives. I never meant to imply that they shouldn't. I just want to get my fix. (My biggest addiction: Dan's fiction)
4) Thank you to all of those who replied to my initial message. I appreciate the feedback and suggestions.
