One of the most powerful, action filled, amazing chapters that you have probably wrote Dan (at least that I have read).

So not to spoil too much, all I'll say is "Grey".

I will be amazed if you can top this chapter, but I'm sure you will.

Excellent chapter! Fight scenes are a favourite of mine. It strikes me that they must be difficult to write. I was most impressed with the Light mages' participation. My sense was they were all rhetoric.

Ok, so if the demons show up here, I'm heading for Pheonix.

I'm dying to know who the demon summoners are and how Worthington's uncle fits into it all. Looks like I'll have to wait for part deux.

I'm thinking both Carl and Brendon will wake up with Exedrine headache no. 835 having had all their strength taken from them during the fight. I think everyone will be sleeping in their own beds tonight.

Hey, I have a very legitimate excuse on that one . Today, up here in Canada, the Grey Cup was played. It is the equivalent of the Superbowl. But the cup is the oldest trophy in North American professional sports. And in case your wondering, the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 23-19 in Toronto this afternoon (and I didn't need spell check for any of those places ).

So that is why I probably had Grey on the mind instead of Gray.

I really hate to start reading a story that is not finished. I linked to this one from another site. It was not marked as "in progress", so I thought it was finished. Imagine my surprise (as I stayed up till 1AM to finish the last chapter - today was sooo rough) as I realised it's not over!

While sci-fi, as such, is not my cup of tea, I do enjoy a good fantasy story (I tend to separate the genres). This one is pretty damn good. I have neither the time nor the inclination to go back and read all the posts on the previous chapters so I don't know if this has been mentioned before. Magic, shields, rapport, Healers, arcane duels.....it's Deryni in the 21st century! Add in adepts and the name Sinclair and methinks the author is a Katherine Kurtz fan.

I await the final chapters and look forward to finding more good stories at this site.

Welcome ikslem! Don't worry there's just one more chapter left to go and that should be up either today or tomorrow. Even better, the next book has been written and is currently going through re-writes and edits. It should start posting in a few weeks after this one.

As for Katherine Kurtz. King Javan's Year got thrown across the room when I finished it, but I couldn't wait for the Bastard Prince to settle that story arc. Rory and Paine need boyfriends, and be glad I'm not Deryni. It'd be more Vampire Jarred-ish than Rich Boy. Actually, when writing the story, I never equated it with the Deryni stories, but now...well I can see the kind of connection you made. I'll take it as a very good compliment.

Compliment, indeed! I have all the Deryni books and reread the series every so often, chronologically. The last book was the only disappointment, as I don't think it added much to the over-all story. Rory and Paine with boyfriends? LOL Methinks your take would make an interesting alternate series.

I enjoy reading. Stories that can suck me in and make me a part of them are particularly enjoyable. In that you have succeeded. Keep up the good work.
