From The Hill:

Senior advisers to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) on Monday sought to reconcile the campaign’s assertion that rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has not passed the “commander-in-chief test” with the Clintons’ hints in recent days that the New York senator would tap Obama as a running mate.

Howard Wolfson, Clinton's chief spokesman, said during a conference call with reporters that Clinton would not pick a running mate who has not met the “national security threshold” — as Clinton’s military advisers and Wolfson put it on the call — but that it is possible Obama could meet that threshold by this summer's Democratic convention.

Wolfson repeated Clinton's weekend assertion that picking Obama is “not something she would rule out at this point,” but he also repeated that Obama is not ready to be commander in chief, a key requirement to being Clinton’s running mate.

When asked if Obama could do something to cross that “threshold,” Wolfson said, “It’s not something that I’m prepared to rule out at this time.

This is from the spokesman who represents the candidate who is behind by 110 delegates. Complete BS and off the Chutzpah meter. The Clinton kneecapping continues.

Well, whichever one wins it seems like making the other their running mate would be a good political move. It would help patch up any division that has occurred in the party, and it ensure that more than likely anyone who back either would be behind the new team. Besides, they're platforms are pretty similar, I don't see any reason why they couldn't make a good team.

He might have Sen Clinton as his running mate, but I could see his main supporters not liking it at all.

cool.gif ...............I seriously doubt Obama would pick Hillary as his running mate. Too much friction left over between them. Had it happened, the Dems would lock up the white house.

If he does pick Hilary, he will regret it. She will be a real thorn in the side, undercutting everything he does. And then he will also have to contend with Bill. Try to see yourself in that position.

It looks like McCain and Romney have patched things up. There's conjecture that McCain's best shot at getting elected is to put Romney on the ticket. I don't know if that would inspire Obama to follow suit with picking Hillary.

During one of Cheney's hospitalizations for his heart trouble, somebody (Leno?) said that reminded us that Bush is just one heartbeat from the Presidency.
