I was making some changes in my efiction. I noticed that I could add some pictures. I had not uploaded any before so I decided to upload one to go with one of my stories. It seemed to upload fine but when I go to "manage images" nothing shows up. Does anyone know what I goofed up?

what was the size of the image you were trying to upload?

The image was 124 by 107 pixels and 4kb. What size should it be?

It could also be a browser cache issue. I just helped Rose with that cause she uploaded an avatar and it wasn't showing up for her even though I could see it fine. What browser are you using?

I was using Netscape 7.2. I tried it again later with a recent version of Firefox. The results were the same. When I try to upload the image it returns an error message saying that an image by that name already exists. That makes sense. The only problem is that when I go to manage images it shows "no results".

My computer is pretty old and runing Windows ME but it's never given me any trouble aside from the typical Windows quirkyness.

the limit is 200x200 so you are well within that, I would suggest clearing the cache of your browser but I uploaded an image and tried and was not successful.

I will ask around and see what I can come up with beyond what has been tried already.

Okay I did some poking around, and have come to this conclusion:

The whole images feature in efiction is broken. Another *feature* that isn't really there, more specifically, some tag in the software isn't working correctly. It allows you to upload, telling you the function was successful, yet doesn't list the image. Any attempt at re-uploading the image says that the file already exists. The only other images i could find in efiction are in use by Shortz (DLP) for his chapters of The Secret; these images however are not stored locally, they are fed off a photobucket server, and inserted using the < IMG > tag.

Thats about as best i can offer.
