Cool new index page, Jack. It's visually appealing and it contains a synopsis of each story right below the link for that story.

I'm looking forward to Splash on the Web. Hope you have a great summer.

I just took a look at it. I like it except for the brown. That is a personal thing though. And yes, I look forward to Splash on the Web. smile.gif

Hey, come on. It's - I'm told - UPS Brown! tongue.gif

A big thanks to GaryinMiami for re-designing my home page. And to Joe for the admin assistance in getting it up (the story page, I mean cwm27.gif ).

Gary's got a few more re-design ideas for the individual story pages.

I must say that Gary did a good job. I only like the natural browns found it wood. That is just one of my many quirks. Don't take it personally. hug.gif

Ooooo! Splash on the Web! I love the Splash series! biggrin.gif Although, I think Professional Courtesy might be my favorite.

Cool page! I'm so excited that you added "completed" to your story descriptions. I had actually designed Krista's site partially off of your old one. The rules in your new background remind me of writing paper!

Well look at what I just found. I didn't even know this thread existed until just now.

Thanks everyone. smile.gif

Brown wouldn't have been my choice but it's what the client specified. The rest of the colors came from Jack's avatar.

Yes indeed, it is UPS Brown. It's the same color brown that UPS uses on their website. It's the only brown I've found that doesn't look completely yucky.

Okay, guys (generic). Let's see if we can get our collective heads together. In lieu of UPS Brown, what suggestions do you have for the background of the message and bio panel? I'm open to suggestions.

From a professional graphics designer point of view I suppose, Pantone 724 C, would be the most accurate description. However I still prefer UPS Brown!

Hmm... Scribe Brown?

I still think blue is better. tongue.gif

I like the brown. I'm not sure but it appears the horizontal lines in the background are the same brown. Blue is my favorite color but is overused. Brown is a pleasing departure. My eyes are brown and I've always been OK with that.

The Splash in the Pool story pages will have more blue in them. It seems appropriate. But I have a mandate from Joe to cut down on the all the graphics so it will be subtle. I'll have something to show Jack later this evening.

Brown, it is, on the main story page. Guess Joe and Myr want me to be more subtle. Snorkle.gif Some of my earlier stories need a updated look and Gary is helping make that happen.

I'm sorry I didn't have anything to show you last night, Jack. And still nothing this morning. I'm blaming it all on Tim the Tiger. See, he told me about a great story from another Hosted Author on GA, and, well, I spent all day yesterday reading it. And I still have more reading to do today. Still, you should take another look at your site on my development server and let me know if you like the changes I've made so far. Don't worry, the Splash pages will eventually have the same ruled background as the home page except in blue. I also need to chat with you about an idea I have for making it easier to navigate from one chapter to the next, or previous. I sort of like how this navigation is handled in eFiction. Let me know what you think about it please.

It is not my fault. You chose to read it. I did not twist your arm. mad.gif

You did too. I was stubborn for a long time cause I don't like rich kid stories. But you kept at it until I agreed to try reading it if you'd just leave me alone. Anyway, I should have taken your advice after the first suggestion. tongue.gif

So, which story are you two talking about?

Dan Kirk's "Rich Boy" series. I'm on Chapter 15 of the first story.

I've read that. Great story! Every chapter holds your interest. It's a long time between Fridays.

I have a feeling that by the time I get to the sequel it will be completed. Maybe not. I just started Chapter 23 of 28 of Awakening.

I wish I could give out the URL for my development server. While the servers could handle it I doubt the DSL line could. It's only an 8mbps/640kbps line so the upstream would quickly get saturated. Besides, I'm not sure Jack wants anyone to see what we're up to until it's all done. I will say that if Jack approves the new way of navigating between chapters you all will like it a lot.

Which reminds me... Jack where are you? I really wish we had some way to talk to each other instead of typing.

It appears the index page has changed again. The format is the same, I think, but all the UPS brown is gone. Perhaps it is a result of the recent server problems. Hopefully, it is not permanent.

Think brown!
MikeL
Now the brown is back, but some links (such as the link to this forum) are missing. I'm sure all will be normal soon.
MikeL
OK. I found them. The "missing" links are not missing; they are across the top of the index page. Cool! specool.gif
