There is another nifty little feature called the blog tracker that tracks the blogs for me and informs me of new posts.
Lately, it seems to have stopped performing its job. There have been numerous posts in blogs that I track and I have received no notifications for them.
Could someone please check it out?
Thanks

For that one, it's simple, his blog is simply "outta order" lol, Jason did sent a help message to Myr and he's doing his best to make it back to normal,, But on the last news that I heard, is that it's going to take a few days..
I thinks that it's problem from the blog server/provider

Bk it's simple, Myr worked on it and couldn't fix it for some reason so he contacted the tech support and they opened a ticket so it could take a few days or a few weeks... I'll send my blog to you by pm in the meantime everything is fixed

I received the email notification of your blog post so it appears to be working for me.
Are there any specific blogs you're having an issue with, or is it overall?

Overall... I'll ask one of the members whose blog I track to post something as a test...

Okay, I just asked TL the Writing Tiger to post something in his blog. I didn't receive any notification of it.
Does being online on the board affect the tracker?

Double check your block trackings in your Control Panel. They might have been deleted somehow. If they're still in there, then it's another issue that we'll have to work out.
I ran across another serious issue with the blogs that I need to take care of before this so please be patient.

BK's is still there Joe. I wish I could help you out with the blog issue. If there
is anything I can do please let me know.
You know, I'm not sure if it's mentioned enough. Overall you do an amazing job of keeping this place running. I wish I had a sysadmin that's as good as you are.

I'm running a ReSynch on the blogs to see if that fixes the issue. Check your email here in a bit and see if you receive a notification. If not, subscribe to my blog and let me know and I'll post another entry to see if it will force it.

I'm using a gmail account instead of my own mail server for GA. I just checked gmail and there's nothing in my spam folder.
If indeed this is a bug that's beyond your control how about adding an announcement-only forum where bloggers can announce their latest entries? Seems like a reasonable workaround to me for now.

I don't think a forum for Blog posts is necessary. All you have to do it click the Blogs link, and if the blogs are sorted by most recent post, then you'll see right at the top if someone has posted.
However, if you really need to be notified of a blog post without actually checking, I would suggest using the RSS feature on the individual blogs.

I agree an announcement forum for blogs is... excessive.
There is the favorite feature as well (which I use) just click on the little heart and the blog is kept at the top of the list regardless of posts are not.

Other users are getting the blog notifications. I thought I had the problem narrowed down to a mask that both you and BK have that's given me problems before, but apparently even after I removed it, it didn't work. Unless the blogs only send out the emails when you're not online. I'm having Steve do a test for me if he's still lurking on here as invisible.

Alright, well as I've been told, the subscription settings are global and carry over to the blogs as well. So a few tips:
Make sure you're set to receive notifications. Go to My Controls>> Email Settings>> Privacy Settings and make sure the following box is checked:
Send me any updates sent by the board administrator
Enabling this option will add your email address to the administrators mail list and you will receive any updates sent.
Also, be aware of which subscription you picked when you subscribed to previous topics on the forum.
No Email Notification
This option will not send out any email notification but will retain the topic or forum in your subscriptions panel.
Delayed Emailed Notification
This option will send out a notification if a new topic or reply has been made and you're not active on the board.
Immediate Email Notification
This option will send out a notification immediately after a new topic or reply has been made regardless of your activity.
Daily Email Digest
This option will send out a daily digest showing all new replies or topics for that day
Weekly Email Digest
This option will send out a weekly digest showing all new replies or topics for that week
Please note the underlined part if that's what you selected.
If you have the correct settings and you're still unable to receive email notifications, then you're going to have to wait for IPB to release a patch because I'm out of ideas.
GaryK

Send me any updates sent by the board administratorEnabled
Immediate Email NotificationEnabled
Still no notices. I'll wait on a patch from IPB. The Blogs link at the top of each page will be a helpful workaround in the interim. Thanks for trying Joe.

Here's a possibility. It is possible that your internet provider is blocking and preventing you from receiving the email notifications. It's seen as spam and may not even make it into your spam folder.
I've just discovered that Comcast is blocking any email notification for The Talon House, including my house email account. They see it as Spam and it doesn't even get to my Spam folder. I'm working to get them to unblock it.

Hi Jan,
In my case I use gmail for GA. If the mail didn't make it to my InBox it would show up in my spam folder.
If gmail does somehow turn out to be the culprit I can always use my own mail server.

I don't think that is the case, Jan. The e-mail comes from the same address--> admin@gayauthors.org. Since I am receiving updates for the Boards, from the same address, the Blog notifications should also reach.
Also, I am using Yahoo! for GA. Two major mail servers wouldn't block the address simultaneously now, would they?

They wouldn't block based solely on the same address, however they can and do block based on different content from the same address.
