There are 5 story ratings provided by E-Fiction. Could someone please explain them?

Here's the rating the way I understand them and in the ascending order-->

K+ ---> General Reading (All)
T ---> Teens (13+)
M ---> Mature Content (17+)
MA ---> Mature-Adult Content (18+)
XXX-Porn Only---> whistle.gif

Thanks
BeaStKid

P.S
And Thanks to Rose for finding this comprehensive Rating information

So this may not be the info you were looking precisely for but there is an earlier post regarding eFiction ratings.

Other then that i do believe you have a general handle on what the ratings are, Though I'd say T is writing suitable for a teen audience. They follow the fiction ratings with some adjustments. We don't use their K & B ratings and we have added XXX ... for obvious reasons.

Yup...so T is for teens... rest, my ideas are rights then... Thanks Steve.

Okay, so I went to Fanfiction.net and looked up the ratings, since they are so much like eFictions. I found this site with the various ratings. Is this in any way close to the rating system, even though there are a couple that aren't on the site?
IMPO, I think this might be close, but then again, I might be wrong.

Okay, quick edit. It looks like it might be
K+ is like rated G.
T is like rated PG
M is like PG 13
MA is like rated R
and XXX...well, I'm sure I don't need to explain that one, huh?

By golly Rose I do think you are right! Those do look familiar

I'll amend my post above

Steve

Some loose guidelines

K+ -- Minor action violence without serious injury. May contain mild coarse language. Should not contain any adult themes.

T -- Suitable for teens, 13 years and older, with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes.

M -- Not suitable for children or teens below the age of 16 with possible strong but non-explicit adult themes, references to violence, and strong coarse language.

MA -- Content is only suitable for mature adults. May contain explicit language and adult themes. Substantial Plot

XXX -- Contains explicit language and Adult Themes, little or no plot. Posting stories that have little ,or no, plot and, is comprised almost exclusively of explicit adult scenes is counter to GA's standards of quality.

You're welcome. I knew they looked familiar, but it wasn't until I re read this post that I remembered. Glad that I could help.

Hot dang! I knew being a research geek would come in handy some day.
So, now we have a basic idea about what the ratings mean. I'm glad that I could help in my own small way. happy.gif
