The situation is far more serious than anyone expected... I think we are going to see many more demon battles in the near future. The Government Agency have just had their eyes opened!

That chapter was certainly an interesting read. Omg, what are they going to be able to do about all those demons? Jamie and Worthington have a lot of work to do. The government agent was so full of it! He acts like Worthington is a force of evil or something. Since when does saving the world make someone evil? Great chapter Dan! I'm ready for more.

Wow, I'm surprised that Worthington was so honest with the government guy, almost like he was taking him on as a student. Was that an effect of the Gray path, too? Nice pivotal chapter! TGIF!

So it seems there might be an Government path in the coming - as they have an adept in the lead. But why has he not been known by mage society? Is it possible to become an adept without help by anybody else?

But he seems to be very careless by letting thousands of mundanes know about these doings, and by accepting summoning of demons

On top of that we have rouge mages summoning demons far more spread than we thought before.

We live in interesting times - as someone said once.

I thought it was clear in the chapter that the government Adept was self-taught and that he was taken by the demons?!@

Just like the Government to mess with things they don't know much about, or rather
know just enough about to be dangerous. Summoming Demons! I'm surprised that Zardoc isn't putting in an
appearance yet. Although, maybe he has but the Government mages don't know it yet.

I didn't think about that while reading the chapter, but on rereading I understand your point...
De la Plane seems ill-informed on much of the magic world. I think he learned more from Worthington than Worthington learned from him. I can see Worthington and the government joining forces to fight the demons. The government would do well to take orders from Worthington. Perhaps the government's vow of silence about the existence of magic will be his compensation.

It was pretty obvious to me that the government Adept was self-taught, but I don't think it was explicitly stated that he was taken by the demons. We can assume that since you said their 6 most powerful were at the summoning and two of them were taken over. Also it would have been more likely for him to be dead/captured if all 3 of their bases were overrun. Still I don't think it was stated that he was taken....


Anyway great chapter, it seems like there will be a grudging alliance between the gov and Worthington....not expected at all.

Well, the heroes now have their hands full.

How would the other Adepts take this news?
Would they help Worthington in helping the government?
Will the Adepts of the Valley of the Sun succeed in helping the Government?
Who owes whom a favour now? (reference to elves and dwarves owing a favour or visa versa.)
Are we going to get a 'scene' ? (reference to Jamie's horny-ness... )
And the most important question....How will the Gray path shape our protagonists' future??
