i have been reading doms stories ever since i first found the log way on nifty and everything he writes has managed to touch me in different ways. ive been thinking a lot about these awsome stories and i realized that i dont know anything about the author except hes been very patient every time i have ambushed him with AIM. innocent.gif i dont want to be stalkerish but i wanted to start a thread where we can ask dom questions that have nothing to do when he will put the next chapter out. maybe he will even answer them biggrin.gif

i'll go first.

dom out of all of your stories tou is the most real to me and i wanted to know if any of it is true for you. are you a real life quinn?

First, all of my stories are fiction. But, yes, some of the ‘feelings’ that Quinn goes through were very real for me when I was younger. That doesn’t make me a real life Quinn, though. I’m no slob, but I think a real Quinn would seriously annoy me. smile.gif

Two questions:

1. How does it feel to have all of these strange people (oops, I meant to say strangers, people you don't know ) talking about your stories the way that we do?

2. Do you read our comments, and do you think that they have any effect on what you write as the stories progress?

Kitty

1. I’m just glad people like my stories. biggrin.gif

2. Yes and no. Like it or not, it’s kinda entertaining to read the majority of your comments. I like to see who has my plots figured out and who doesn’t. I do skip some threads, though, because sometimes I’m afraid I’ll read something that WILL alter what I have already planned to write.

But, a lot of you are very helpful and your comments/discussions have contributed to my writing. A lot of times when I read your comments I can see things that I’m lacking, or characters that I need to show more of. When I start a story I also know which characters that I want liked and which ones I want hated. I really enjoy reading your comments for this reason because it lets me know whether or not I’m on the right track.

No fair editing my posts Dan! you're gonna get me in trouble laugh.gif

Do you get 'warned' for abuse of your super powers? Or are you just going to claim that 'Jarred made you do it?' tongue.gif
dkstories
I was writing service while doing it...so it's Jarred's fault!

BTW, check your mail box, I got the chapter that goes right before your chapter done.
dkstories
You dare tell Dom when he's going off topic?!

I do have a question for Dom...

You've mentioned a few times having someone important in your life. Are any of your characters based off of him...and if so...which one(s)?

(yes, none of you thought to ask that but I did!)

I think you might be the only Domaholic strong enough to risk asking Dom that sort of question. I'm sure lots of us have thought of that question, (and would be particularly interested in hearing the answer!). But none of us have the superpower strength you have, to risk the total destruction of a unique species, (Dom's writings), by getting so personal.

Not even *_* would ask YOU that sort of question! And we all know Dom is too nice to do that sort of thing himself.

Now, ain't that a fact?

LOL

Dom,

First, so is Aaron a 'liked' character or a 'hated' character? <Vic has big $$$$ riding on this> tongue.gif

This is just my personal preference, but I hate in any way, shape, or form that our comments and/or discussion about stories could possibly influence their outcome. The stories seem more 'real' to me knowing that we won't have any impact on them. I knew an author who asked his readers to 'vote' whether a character would live or die. The magic for that story was gone for me at that point.

I think I was one of the first people to start discussing TOU in the yahoo group and I did so because I thought you had that all completely written (it just needed some edits and some updates). When I found out you were still writing it, I beat myself up with a wet noodle. tongue.gif I found myself in subsequent chapters wondering if you were addressing some of the things that people posted (ok, ok, most of it was probably paranoia and posters probably just 'guessed' right). But I guess I can't just help but wonder.

Ohh, here's another question, you don't read EVERY post here, do you? Sigh...well if you do, just know that the posts about you are done with affection and respect for you as an author and a person (even though we are making fun of you in the process).

I think it's safe to say Dom reads YOUR posts since he's zapped you several times.

You’re going to have to wait and see about Aaron. Reading your comments have never affected the outcome of a story, so don’t worry about that. No, I don’t read every single post, but since you’re the only one who really ‘makes fun of me with affection while respecting me as a person and an author,’ I make sure to read all of yours, Vic. tongue.gif

I wouldn’t say that any characters are completely based off of him, but I think that some have certain ‘qualities.’ Actually, Taylor would be a close match, minus the purple hair and ‘hitting on everyone complex.’ He’s only allowed to hit on me. wub.gif

You're so cute, Dom. wub.gif As if you have to worry about him hitting on anyone else. tongue.gif I agree, Taylor all the way... but he doesn't remind you of sexy Jude at all? innocent.gif alright, I promise, I don't check out your guy... much. innocent.gif

This Q&A thing is fun. biggrin.gif Good going JC. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif I wonder how long it’ll be before someone asks a question he won’t answer. I do have another one that I’ve been meaning to ask for a while: Dom, your stories have always been so touching and wonderful, but although I am immensely enjoying Service, I was wondering what attracted you a story that is the complete opposite of your usual stuff.
NaperVic
You mentioned that your mother helped you with the thoughts and feelings in the after death letter from Gina to Rory.

Does your mother know you write Gay Fiction and if so, does she read your work? Or does the thought of your mother reading your work want to send you to straight to therapy?

P.S. - Give your Mother an extra special Mother's Day wish for having such a talented, giving, and all around awesome son! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Dom, this question has me intrigued as well. I also am wondering who might have been the inspiration for Grandma Alice. She is just too perfect, and I find myself chuckling every time she is mentioned in Rory's thoughts or interactions... Grandma Alice RULES, no doubt about it!

Love and Peace,
Solace

Um, Vic, You might want to clean that brown stuff off of your nose... and, no, I do not think it is from the hershey kisses Michael has been sending you, either!!!! ROFLMAO! Love Ya guy!
DomLuka
First, let me say that my mother is a saint. To answer your questions, yes, she knows I write gay fiction, but no, as far as I know, she doesn’t read it. (I won’t give her the link) I think if I knew that she read it my stories would get pretty boring. Did I get some of Alice’s character from her? Absolutely. Things aren’t always ‘sane’ with my mom, but all things considered, I’m sure that it could have been worse. smile.gif

Ohhh, this question is appropriate now that Dom has a new/different BF.

Here's to hoping for an answer unsure.gif

I got a question for Dom, if he ever comes back. Let me know if this has been explained before, but What is the deal with Twins? I new to his stories so I havent read many, but I've found Chris & Tony, Aiden & Asher, and Oliver & David; I'm guessing that there are more than those three sets too.

QUOTE ('TLW Ch 10')
I was actually surprised at how much I seemed to have in common with Lacy. At least, I had one thing in common with her. She had identical twin siblings, sisters. I told her all about my brothers and she told me about her nine-year-old sisters. We both decided that it could be fun to have twins in the family, but equally annoying. But, unlike my ability to tell Chris and Tony apart, Lacy didn’t have the same gift with her sisters. She said the only way that she could tell them apart was because one’s hair was cut shorter than the other.
