July 5th, 2007. A day that shall live forever in the annals of literary history... For on that day, the Shadowy One labored and brought forth to these forums a new chapter, a new concept, dedicated to the proposition that all cliffhangers are not created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great war of restoration, testing whether rightness and farness, and yes Justice, shall prevail against the usurper.

We are met on a great battlefield of that war. The chase is on, and we’re keeping up the skeer. The goal is in sight, the restoration is at hand on this hallowed date. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But, in a larger sense, we cannot overstate – for such would be well nigh impossible – the momentous event that occurred one year ago this very day.

For on this day one year past, did the Shady One post the ultimate in cliffhangers, forever unrivaled and unsurpassed. Yea, I speak of Living in Surreality, Chapter 26.
On July 5th, 2007, the literary world was shaken, and left dangling from the tenuous precipices by its fingernails, teetering on the very edge of the malevolent abyss from soaring heights never yet attained, and never to be so again.
It is for us to honor and consecrate this hallowed work, to continue the fight, to pursue the noble cause. We must honor the act, the accomplishment, nay, the sacrifice, with our unstinting efforts.
For, a great injustice blights the land. A writer, having conquered and reigning supreme, was wrongly deprived of his honored title, unjustly removed from his sacred throne.

This wronged writer must have justice done, the wrong put to right, things set back to their rightfull place. For, to do other, would be to dishonor the memory, to besmirch the greatness which is LiS 26 on this, the anniversary of its unveiling.
For in this just cause, we stand united, unwavering, unshakable in our convictions. Join with me, and let your voices be heard; do what is right; and in undying spirit of ’26, let the restoration begin!!!

All hail LiS 26, and Shadowgod, the Once and Future King!!!

LiS 26 was definitely an evil cliffhanger. However, the fans voted for C James as King of Evil Cliffhangers for 2007. The title will be up for grabs once again for 2008. However, LiS 26 in all its cliffhanging glory does not count for 2008, because the story was completed in 2007. Sorry CJ, but unless there is a really devious and EVIL cliffhanger in 2008 from Shadowgod, you will probably win the title once again. The only other factor is Dan Kirk. Now, if you want Shadowgod to win, you cannot post anymore evil cliffhangers and prevent Dan from doing so. Good luck with the latter.

Hey now, Duncan has some evil emotional cliffhangers in his newest story. He's even admitted to it in his forum! They might not be action related, but... ack!

He most certainly does. I suspect that he will be nominated. We'll have to see what happens.

It's true that LiS 26 won't count for 2008 (darn it! ) but the Shady One is known for outdoing himself. It's still early in Dreams & Cliffed Wings, but I have no doubt that once we are further in, there will be a cliffhanger of shadowgodesqe proportions!!

If we had to celebrate every cliffhanger on this site, CJ would get his little moment of fame every week or so. And I guess he can earn numerous titles in the characters/readers abuse over time, so by 2020, EVERY SINGLE DAY would be a CJ celebration...
