Dan Kirk has released Chapter 29 of Rich Boy:Growing Pains...the penultimate chapter.

Wow! That was an action packed chapter. It seems that we're building up to the final showdown of this book of the series. Oh, the end was chilling. They're turning people in demons?

I must also declare an evil cliffhanger!

Great chapter, Dan...plenty of action. Demons breeding with humans? Horrors! Worthington has minor injuries. What about Jamie?

Ready for the final chapter. Hope the sub chasers get their prey.

You would think that Brandon would have caught on by now that getting in shape might be a good idea - in his own interests as well as Worthington's. I still love him, though. This time, Brandon enters the fray. Way to go, Bran.

Definitely a cliffhanger here, not so much from the ending, but the lack of information on how Jamie fared. His combat group had met considerable resistance.

Just can't get enough of this story.

There seems to be so many questions now, and only one chapter to hopefully get the answers .

A couple of things come to mind.

Like others, how the Jamie? Other than knowing he was facing resistance, we don't know too much more. Was is resistance from Demons, Demon controlled Mages, or more of the Demon spawn that Worthington encountered? Don't forget that Worthington said he trusted Jamie in combat, but is that enough to protect Jamie?

Second, these Demon spawn (for lack of a better term). The statement that the demons are making them like them, scares the hell out of me. I guess we really don't know how the demons are able to control the mages under their spell, but is it done to children the same way? What really frightening is that the Demons seem to have to leave the existing plane, but these kids don't. The fact that they had claws that could tear through the Dwarf Body Armour makes me wonder if the demons have been working on a way to outwit the Dwarvian technology.

So many questions.....

Cliffhanger? That wasn't a cliffhanger. Ya know, folks have been making waves about other authors leaving cliffhangers, well I decided to give quantity a run for its money with quality. I thought Dreams of Humanity had a great cliffhanger ending, and now, well let's just say after next week there better be no challenge for the throne of evil cliffhangers or I'll really have to start working at it...


By the way, I do hope people know the meaning of the word snark.

ok... so the ending have to be a greater cliff hanger than the one from Dream of Humanity... I am going to go with the guess that Jamie was captured by the escaping demon mages....

I have to say that I had no idea this is where the story was heading O_O. It sort of reminds me of (and no, I'm not implying anything this is simple, harmless juxtaposition) Maguire's allusion to homosexual sex and breeding between the Animals and humans (in 'Wicked'). Very creative and quite well-written, Dan.

I never complain about evil cliffhangers. I happen to love them. I have never actually used one personally, but I have an appreciation for them. Maybe someday I will have the courage and confidence to create one of my own. In the mean time, I shall bow to the cliffhanging greatness of Dan Kirk, C James, and Shadowgod. If Rich Boy 2 ends with an evil cliffhanger, I will actually be pleased.

I actually like cliffhangers (as long as I know that it'll eventually be resolved). The demon child spawn was an interesting twist (and after spending the day with my cousin and her two extremely hyperactive\mischievous children, I kept look at them to see that they still had pale white skin... ).

Here I was all excited that I was finally going to see Rob in action (which I've been hinting at for months now) only to have him in the storyline long enough to get off the chopper!
