Hi all,

I've just released my newest (and coincidentally oldest tongue.gif) short story The Long Goodnight.

Please check it out then let me know what you think!

I was thinking it fit rather well after the events of the last chapter of BMAD, but obviously it's not related at all smile.gif

I hope you enjoy it!

Take care and have a great day!

Aw, it's sweet. The friendship that these boys have sounds really incredible, and I like to believe that it will survive the night you describe more or less intact. I do think your writing has grown a lot since you wrote this, which I don't mean as a criticism or anything, it's just that this story has a certain innocence, a certain naive quality to it. But like I said, it's really kinda sweet.

Actually, I'm more interested in your comment above about how it relates to BMAD. Does this mean that there are parallels between Joel and Mick? That would make a lot of sense, actually.

Nicely written, Kevin. You've captured the sorrow of an unrequited and impossible love in a really tender way.

Kudos!

I think it's more likely to be a parallel between Bobby and Mick, seeing how Aaron knows that he's not in love with Mick.

Hey, I said what I said on purpose, and I stand by it.

As for Aaron not being in love with Mick, see my post on the subject in the BMAD thread for my theory about that one.

Very sweet. The relationship between Joel and Bobby was amazing. The story was sincere, and for me ended on a hopeful note. The overall effect was very poignant.

This was both sad and touching. Both boths love one another, but in different ways. Very typical. But still sad. And the fact that Joel (the right character?) was willing to sacrifice his life and be with Bobby, wow! But then you turned it around, Bobby loving Joel so much, he wouldn't let Joel sacrifice his life, and would rather just die in emotional pain. LOL. But he's right--they both deserve to find their proper soulmate and all that stuff, where the "in love" is reciprocal.

I really liked this story. A nice story of a deep bond and friendship (my favorite), but shows that even great friends can inadvertently hurt one another. But they still have each other in the future...

This story was similar to your latest anthology in the sense that nothing much happened, but you poured a lot of strong dialogue and emotions. This wasn't sarcastic or funny, for a change. LOL. But I liked it, as sad as it was. And I'm not cursing you off for being evil...because this wasn't THAT evil or depressing. biggrin.gif

One of the first things I did when I got back was read this story. It always amazes me how you can convey so much emotional turmoil in so few paragraphs, Kevin.

A lovely, poignant read. I can hardly wait to read your anthology entry.
