Hi,

Most teens out there today have read the Twilight series and i have to say it is a great series. It depicts jealousy, hate, fear, and most of all, love. In the story, Edward, is the perfect guy, and we all want to find our perfect guy. So tell me if any one has read the series, and how much you liked it. Your Edward is out there. Sorry guys Edward is not gay, just perfect :]

I know who mine is, do you?

Sorry i know this is a totally random topic. Just thought it would be good to remind people that there is love out there.

I am just going to start reading the book at your request lol
and my interest of course

I hope I enjoy the series
and I know deep down I have found my Edward smile.gif
Anna
I have read all four Twilight books, and unlike my utterly boring and uncultured friends, absolutely LOVED Twilight.

It is by far the best book series I have ever read. Even more so than Harry Potter, which by the way is overrated and played out. Don't get me wrong, I love Harry Potter, but it's just not up to par with the standards that Bella Swan and the Cullen family have put out there for young teenage readers read.gif .

And I totally agree that Edward is the perfect boy out there biggrin.gif

I mean, who wouldn't want a boyfriend that sparkles in the sun, dazzles you every chance he gets, and drives a shiny silver Volvo. It's quite easy to fall in love with a fictional character wub.gif

Stephenie Meyer is an awesome author worshippy.gif , and I can't wait for Edward's point of view in Midnight Sun.

I know! It's gunna be awesome to see how Edward sees things. On Stephanie's site there is the first chapter of it, if u havent read it already.

I'm glad there is another Twilight fan on here. biggrin.gif

Uggh... words can't even describe how amazing that series is...

Like Anna, I too have uncultured friends who don't appreciate the series, but what can you do? I tried to turn them on to it, but whatever. I also have friends who love the series as much as I do.

I absolutely loved the last book, despite the fact that most of the time I despise changing points of view. That book was just wow.

I really really hope that the movie version of Twilight does the book justice...

Yeah my friends, well most of them have read it and love it! So im happy there, but i do agree with you on the whole changing points of view. I would have liked it better without the whole Jacob thing. It made things too wierd.

I can tell you now, the movie will never do Edward justice, the actor is just not Edward enough. They messed up the hair and made him look wierd. I will only see the movie because i want to see how they run. biggrin.gif

Well i still am glad more people like Twilight on here!

Hem Hem.... in the immortal words of myself..... I dislike Edward greatly.... I have a strange attraction for Jacob much more then Edward. *I'm so going to get shot for this*

I find Edward far to controlling for my taste. Jacob does sometimes annoy me, but other than the occasional smugness, but everytime i hear his rough voice i tingle that he's in the scene lol.....

Just my opinion.
ARIAS21229
let me just say

I HAVE ALL THE BOOKS 4 OF THEM! I LOV THOES SERIUS I LOV ADWERD I LOV BELLA! IM CRAZIE ABOUT THE STORY.

its my fav ever! so romantic. i do hope on day i do find my own adwerd....T.T but i dont think theres anyone like adwerd *gets emotional* i knew it was a bad thing talking about this, ill go cry my self to sleep.

but i think everyone should read the serius its amazing it holds on to you teaches you a lot. and well it sure as hell isent boring.

Really? Like really?

You're the second person I've talked to who's been more of a Jacob fan...
The only thing I find awkward about Edward is the fact that he's cold... like physically I mean. Maybe it's just cuz I'm normally physically cold... and that'd just be a cold cold relationship haha.

But I respect your opinion, even if it's weird.

Warning Spoiler!

BTW, did anyone find the whole Jacob- Renesmee thing a little awkward, even in the least bit?

~Mikie
BeaStKid
I don't even know where he/she is... and I am getting very impatient.... laugh.gif
Brycman
hmmmm, mikie i did find that really odd. And idk how anyone could chose Jacob over Edward! Edward is sooo much more romantic than Jacob...but that's just my opinion. biggrin.gif
Matt- 'Happiness is Key'
Well its different for me, I think Jacob cares about her but he knows that she's a strong person, Edward underestimates her all the time, he shelters her, and for godsakes he's possesive to the point thaat he's willing to hold her hostage.

Plus Jacob doesnt shy her away from the truth. I dont know, i had this discussion in my Literature class, i was a minority, but i just love Jake's rough rugged and guardian like mannerisms. I truly do.
Imagine your own rugged protective warm beast man. ahhhhh wub.gif
Anna
Holy wow! this topic just exploded it seems lol.

First, the movie, I'm so excited for it, especially since, if you didn't know, it got moved up from December to November. Three weeks early yay!! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif As for the cast, eh, some of them don't really fit as well as I would have hoped for. Robert Pattinson, or R-Patz as the devoted fangirls like to call him, seems to fit about as well as anyone would for such a complex character. As for the rest of the cast, we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. Catherine Hardwick better not have F***ed up the movie, or I will be extremely unhappy.

Second, Edward and Jacob, I for one am all for Team Edward. As much as I like Jacob and how he protects Bella and Renesmee, he just seems a little annoying sometimes. Edward seems a little too overprotective at times, but thats just the way he is. He loves Bella with all his heart.

Third, Mikie, your spoiler, I totally agree. When I read that, it was a wow moment, as in I had to put the book down and go WOW blink.gif . But it's also about as weird as Quill and Emily's niece, so....lol
ComeWhatMay
So one of my more brilliant (IMHO) philosophies in life is that people suck, and this has just reaffirmed this philosophy...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080903/lf_nm_.../books_meyer_dc

This makes me angry a lot. I really do hope she ends up resuming the project at some point in time.
Anna
Yea this pissed me off. mad.gif But I've known about it for a week or so already. My lovely friends on Myspace, Live.Love.Twilight., put up blogs just about everyday with new Twilight updates. worshippy.gif We were informed of this atrocity last week I think. (Go friend request them if you have a Myspace and love Twilight.)

It makes me sad to think that the people that Stephenie Meyer so dearly trusted her few copies, and varied versions, of Midnight Sun, were the very people who let it slip about what was in the book so far.

It isn't fair to her fans, and now she won't even finish the book because of these morons. At least not any time soon. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

OMG I REALLY NEED TO READ THIS LOL

OK, did anyone happen to see the VMA's last night on MTV??????

The cast of Twilight was supposed to be there. It was Robert Pattinson aka R. Patz aka Spunk Ransom lmfao, Kristen Stewart, Cam Gigandet, and Taylor Lautner. Otherwise known as by their character names; Edward, Bella, James, and Jacob.

So here's the lowdown if you didn't watch, Taylor had to be a spotlight hog and a mic hog and talk forever on end. Then Kristen spoke, then Cam said a little bit, and Robert didn't even get to talk! WTF is up with that?! mad.gif

I mean it makes sense to have Cam there, evil against good, but Taylor didn't need to be there and take up space and waste hot air. His role in the first book is the size of my baby toe, therefore he had no reason to be there. I was super upset that Rob didn't get to say anything. Him and Kristen were the only reason I watched the VMA's, aside from the sexy beast known as Michael Phelps haha wub.gif

I missed the VMAs but i dont think that they picked a good guy for Edward. The guy for Jacob, well that is a totally different subject!! Total hottie!!! Agree 100% with u on michael Phelps, he is a very sexy beast. lol

Thank you!! At least someone agrees with me haha. All my friends think I'm crazy biggrin.gif

And I'm 50/50 on the whole casting thing. At first I thought that Robert wasn't right for the part, but I've seen so many behind the scenes videos you would not believe it lol, he really seems to have put his all into the character. We'll just have to see how it plays out on screen in November. As for Taylor Lautner, as much as I don't like him in general, I think he is absolutely perfect for the role of Jacob. But seeing as how I am almost 19, I can't really say he's a total hottie haha, he's only like 16.

lol, well i think that i am entitled, being 14, to be allowed to think he is a hottie. You're right he is perfect for Jacob, even though a little short, hehe biggrin.gif And i still dont think Robert looks like Edward, he's just not edward enough, u know?
Anna
Well bry you just keep crushing away lol. And Taylor isn't that short, he seems taller on screen. But yes, Robert didn't seem Edward enough to me either, at first. I had actually pictured Steven Strait as Edward. He was in the movie The Covenant. Super hottie haha. wub.gif

I also pictured other people in many other roles too. But oh well, we're stuck with who is there now.
Mattie
I soooo can't wait to get the 4th book. I know when i go to the city for the concert that i am sooo stopping at the bookstore to buy the last book. I actually am thinking of starting to re read the series just to get a feel of the characters agian before i start the newest book.

I have read sooo many vampire novels that while i finished Anne Rice and Laurell Hamilton i wanted more vampires. I came across a link about a Vegeterian Vampire is what it said and at first i laughed then it went into that he only ate animals and that caught my interest it seemed something Fresh and different. The woman at the bookstore was giving me a hardtime about that i read vampire novels and this was right beside like Harry Potterish stuff. So i knew it couldnt be really bloodsheddy! I'm weird that if i buy books that have sequels i will buy both incase i like them and that i dont get a chance to go to the bookstore agian for a while. So i bought all 3 books!

When i first started the series i thought Bella really really boring and ANNOYING!! but i wanted to keep reading to meet this mysterious vampire. Then i met him and it was like magic! At this 1 camp i was working at this summer EVERY girl was reading twilight i always find twilight as a really Girly book but i love it i so had to laugh at that and id strike up all kinds of twilight convos.

Jacob vs Edward hmm i think they both have there pros and cons but are both really cool. But id pick Edward hes got that nice house and a shiny volvo. Oh and he's got that diamond that was my favorite line in the 1 book "He's already got a diamond on you" i think it was Alice who said that then Bella looks at her ring like an idiot lmao.

Yeah i was soo pumped about Steph Myers doing the 1 book all Edward POV i thought it would be fun to have a male perspective i read the parts she posted on her website and it just sounded awesome. Her own family and friends leaked out her story that is just sad really.

The movies going to be in november now??? COOL!!! I hope thats for my area as well. I saw the 1 thing about the show and the actor who plays Edwards character was talking about the love scenes hes like "its strange i love her and im trying to kill her" then it said December 12th 2008.

Anna
You just made me smile biggrin.gif Anyone who goes out and buys all the books in the Twilight series before even reading any of it is good in my book lol.

And you have a point, the vegetarian vampire is different. But def a good different. I've read so many vamp novels that all say the same things it gets boring after a while. But the Twilight books are new and a give a change of pace to the otherwise repetitive nature of vamp novels.

And yes, the movie is now going to be out on November 21st!! I'm sooo excited to go see it. Of course it will be the midnight showing haha tongue.gif
Mattie
Hey Anna i just noticed your "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons...for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup" I was wondering where that comes from. On 1 of my favorite authors sites alot of people have that saying and "Do Not meddle in the affiars of goblins for you are crunchy and taste good with barbeque sauce" under neath there names.
Anna
I'm actually not sure where I got the quote from. I was searching for quotes to add to my signature and found some that I thought were amusing lol.

But if you look it up, a lot of people say that J.R.R. Tolkien came up with "Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger." So apparently he came up with this idea before anyone else, and the rest of the world decided to tweak the phrase a little bit.
Brycman
Ok well i haven't said anything in here for a little, so i thought i would say tht I'm UBER excited for Midnight Sun, if it ever comes out. (which it might not) So recently i have changed from team Edward to Jacob, cuz i thought about the idea of having a big heated teddy bear, and i was like yes!!!! lol So yea i like him better now. And Anna, i like tht quote and im pretty sure i have heard it somewhere too biggrin.gif

sad.gif I'm sad now. I thought we were on the same team (Team Edward haha). Jacob annoys me, that's all I have to say....bahahaha tongue.gif
Brycman
Don't worry Anna, im still an Edward fan, i just admire Jacob, cuz he tried no matter what. Give him some credit smile.gif He can annoy me too, but i still like the fact that he is soo cute when it comes to loving Bella that he would even go up against Edward even though he knows he will lose. But we are all entitled to our own team. biggrin.gif

Yea he does love Bella a lot, and that's def cute. Sometimes I just wanna smack them all though haha. They have their moments of "dumb dumbness" lol laugh.gif

Hahaha!!!!
I've read the whole series, I love those books!!!!
I just finished Breaking Dawn and I can't wait til the movie comes out!!!
I think that Jacob and Edward are tied in my ratings!!
^.^
Anna
Yay! Someone else who loves Twilight! biggrin.gif
Brycman
I will forever be a big fan of Twilight, but there is one series that far out does it, the Inheritance Cycle. Eragon, Eldest and now Brisingr. Im reading Brisingr atm and it is wayyy better than Breaking Dawn, and im only like 250 pages into it. And Drewbie on here brought up a great thing, the actor in Eragon is a TOTAL hottie!!!! Almost Edward standards biggrin.gif haha im probably commiting myself to suicide by saying this, lol. Well i suggest the book if u havent read it, which most havent considering it just came out... So yea, these are like my 2 favorite series :] Read em!

Bry
Anna
I really like this one series by P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristin. The first book is Marked, the second is Betrayed, and the third is Chosen. There's also a fourth one coming out within the next few days. And of course they are about vampires haha. But it's diff from the Twilight kind of vamps. Very awesome series.
Anna
OMFG! I'm finally reading The Host! and it is good so far. I'm not that far into it, but it's good. Most def tongue.gif

Ya'll should so go get it or check it out from the library like I did and then read it lol. A little weird, and def diff from Twilight, but hey, it's Steph Meyer, of course it's gonna be amazing lol. I'll prolly keep updating about it as i get further along lol.
Brycman
I've read it too, and it is an amazing book, though the sequels to it arent going to do it justice... i read it the week it came out Anna, lol. Yea it is a bit different from Twilight, but it does include the romantic part that Meyer does so well biggrin.gif btw, if u dont know yet Ian all the way!!!! i personally think tht he is the best male character she has made so far wub.gif his eyes, the way she describes them make me think tht they are the most beautiful eyes on EARTH. hehe tht should entice you all enough biggrin.gif

bry
Anna
Haha nice. That will def get me to read it just a little faster to get to those parts lol. tongue.gif
Brycman
Glad i could speed the process along, when you are done, we will definately have to talk about what you thought biggrin.gif so message me when you finish smile.gif I would love to hear your opinion on it.
ComeWhatMay
Uggh... I haven't had the time to read The Host or Brisingr yet because my AP English teacher loves for us to read read read. So I'm busy with that along with AP Calc work, along with dance... so there goes my free time.
Plus I have to read a novel for a book report due at the end of the term, and I can't read either of these because my teacher prefers us to read works "of literary merit", so it has to be off this list that she gave us of the best literary works. So I'm trying to squeeze in time to read that.

But I really want to read both of these books, and a million other books as well. But because of my love for Inheritance, Brisingr will be read first. I gotta know what happens next, haha.

~Mikie

Just finished the fourth twilight book.

The framework is SO PREDICTABLE! You can see everything coming from a mile away. Sure, you don't know the details, but you totally know that Alice is gonna save the day, or that Bella's gonna pull off some crazy awesome something to fix the situation, etc.

Anywho, the analogy I'd use is that Twilight is like a coloring book. It's great, tons of fun, but it's easy fun. You color in the picture as you read; you already know what it's supposed to look like, you're just fillin' in the details.

I totally agree, its true, she doesn't seem to know how to throw a curveball... She may think the whole vampire/human baby thing was smart, but really it wasn't that creative, i saw that coming once they were on their honeymoon... But even though it lacks the suspense of the other books out there, it still has qualities that make it worth reading.

Though, as Anna knows by now, or should know, The Host is wayyyy better than the Twilight series.

oh and p.s. Brisingr was awesome! it exceeded all of my expectations... if you haven't read it yet, then you should :]

Bry
Anna
Bry I am sad to say that I'm still not done with The Host haha. I've been very busy. But I must agree with you that it is better than Twilight. There seems to be twists, and Wanderer/Melanie isn't as whiny as Bella haha.
Anna
OMFG! I just finished The Host last night, finally haha. It rocked!! Totally better than Twilight. I still love me some Twilight, but The Host was just amazing. I so didn't see the end coming, I mean she kept changing her mind about everything lol.
Coming Undone
Just thought I'd stop by and say Hi to my fellow "Twilight" fans.

I got the first one when it first came out and if you can find my blog somewhere here I wrote a review for it along with a few other series of books that I like. I prefer the audio version, and have all four.
UEnigma
I have no idea what Twilight is about... but for some reason I'm being dragged to the movie by my friends... anyone wanna help me out with this or am I going to be forced to buy the book(s)?

Eric smile.gif
Mattie
Nope! You definatly need to get at least the first book. You can read it with your "Sweetboy" and quote Edward Cullen Love lines to him. Mwa ha ha like "You compare one small tree to an entire forest" (i've got a poster of a ribbon and it says that and more about edwards cold chest lol) & "So the lion fell in love with the lamb""Look after my heart---I've left it with you."

He's got so many great lines. i cant wait to go watch the movie i'll go alone to it if i have to.

P.S My luck i'll get hit by a mini van on the way to the movie. I'm so thinking of going as Edward Cullen for halloween though nobody can do him and his perfection justice. Hopefully Robert can pull it off smile.gif
Anna
Holy wow no one's been here for a while. Only 28 more days til the movie!!
Brycman
Yea, it has been quiet in here... Is anyone actually going to see the movie? I doubt that I am because it will ruin the book for me, i don't like who they have chosen for the characters. Like Edward, the actor doesn't fit him at all, i happen to think he is ugly... But then there is the guy playing Jacob, who is a total hottie. wub.gif Yep, well the book is always better than the movie... lol
Anna
I am def def def going to see the movie. My aunt is taking me, my sister, and my cousin to go see it the day after it comes out! I'm sooooo excited and can't wait! biggrin.gif
