Starting tonight I've had troubles with the GA chatroom. I will enter the chatroom, and I will see maybe one or two messages before no further messages will display. Apparently messages I'm typing are getting through... I just can't see them, or anybody else's.

It wasn't lag, because I've tried just waiting and nothing would happen.

I've reinstalled an updated version of java.

I've cleared cookies, etc.

I've tried with both IE and Firefox.

Any idea what to do?

try switching back to the old skin, see if that helps any. Im thinking there is a bug in the new skin that is causing java issues
Demetz
Okay I tried changing the skin, but that didn't seem to help. I'm still experiencing the same problem.
shadowgod
hrmmm...

Do you have my MSN? I accessed chat fine just now, I only thought it may be the new skin because I was getting horrid lag last night/this morning when I was in there.
Demetz
My MSN is sieur_metz@hotmail.com

Update :

Demetz is still having issues joining/participating in Chat. The issues is present with both IE and Firefox. He says he has installed the latest copy of Jave, but the situation isn't resolving itself.

Myr
I am unable to reproduce the problem.
Is anyone else seeing it?

It's been discussed several times when I was in chat and no one else seems to be having a problem.

Krista
I've not had the problem either.

I found a link that might be helpful. http://support.addoninteractive.com/index....trouble_shooter

The site also has a forum, and it is by the people who created the software, so they should be able to figure out what the problem is. I just joined the forum. I will let everyone know if I find anything useful. smile.gif

Added: I posted a topic about the issue on the other site. Hopefully someone there can help us sort out the problem. Again, I will keep everyone posted about what I find out.

Added #2: I've gotten a reply or two. Hopefully, I will find out something tonight. I've got my fingers crossed.smile.gif

Okay Billy. This one looks fairly easy to do. I will quote what it says to do:

Please double check to ensure that your chat room link code is correct. If this does not correct the problem, you will need to empty your browser's cache to resolve the problem. If this does not remedy your issue, please follow the troubleshooter here for further steps that you may take. As a last resort, we recommend re-installing Java.

Yes, I added the correct links. I hope this helps. smile.gif

By the way, I would like to stress that most problems are addressed here in the troubleshooting section.

fixed.

Billy do you know how you fixed it?

and as a totally different aside Demetz is having a different problem. Chat intializes for him. He can log in, but he only gets the first two or three messages before it locks up.

Tiger
Steve, Demetz was in chat earlier but at a different location. He did not have a problem. If it does not work at his house, then it is a problem with his network. If that is the case, I'm going to help him try to fix the port issue. We'll let you know what happens. smile.gif
shadowgod
never really thought it was a problem outside of his network. Judging by the lag he is experiencing I'd say he is suffering some sort of packet loss.

At any rate. I marking the thread as closed. If you want to add anything PM me and Ill make sure it gets noted.
