There were bubbles everywhere, dishes were strewn all across the kitchen and she could swear she saw a teapot in the freezer.

Maria sighed and leaned her head on the freezer, resisting the urge to hit herself into oblivion.

"Koran..." she said slowly, trying to find a trace of patience in her angry mind. "You didn't, by any chance, ask Lark to do the dishes instead of you again?"

The blond man who was lounging on one of the sofas, his legs hanging off and one hand holding a book, looked at Maria innocently.

"Of course not," he drawled, then paused.

"... She asked me."

This scene - this scene has been haunting me for the past three days. *grits teeth* It's the reason I made up a whole bunch of new characters yet again, when I've so many that I can hardly keep track of them. Now they've got a whole sub-plot to them and I get random urges to start writing their story down every so often... So now I've succumbed to it and made a drabble. Yay!

Obviously, it tells the reader about, oh, /nothing/ about the story, but that's alright; my stories don't make sense to anyone but me anyways.

Yay for posting on GA for the first time? :sheep:

Gday, Zenny,

I thought that story made perfect sense :) That doesn't mean I don't want to know more about them, but that's the nature of stories :D

Welcome to GA! And that's a great first post. :great:

I agree with Graeme, nice first post.

Heres another one of mine. I wasnt planning on writing about a rabbit but I just started typing w/o thinking.

The rabbit hopped across the field and into a steel cage where a carrot was waiting for it. The cage door slammed down, scaring the poor rabbit. The cage was picked up and moving, the rabbit huddled against the back of it . Soon it was set down gently and a human face pressed against the bars.

Eek, I'm horrible with drabbles. But, I went for it... and succeeded in that it's one hundred words exactly. I failed in that it wasn't entirely appropriate, but I edited it. And here it is. I'm not sure if it works...0_o

A new life awaited Tim as he reflected on his time in Kansas. He knew he needed a fresh start as he waited for Monday to arrive. He was clueless about what his new life might bring, but he was excited nonetheless. He had an interesting week, and his new friends knew that the party was only just beginning for him as he finally spread his wings and flew alive. They simply wondered if he would be clubbing in the city or if he was simply going to find the company of a Texas cowboy and life happily ever after.

This was it, the moment Sean had being waiting for almost a month for. He stood in his messy room, pants around his knees, a copy of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight open to the very middle. He closed his eyes as he approached orgasm, and released a months worth of semen all over the inside of the book. Sean pulled up his black Kakhi pants and tucked in his white tuxedo shirt. He looked at the mess he made inside the book, admiring it, and snapped it shut. He would return it to the library on his way to work.

Mark stared through the dome at the beautiful vista before him, wondering if he would see its like again. The blinding yellows, oranges and reds unified in a glorious blaze on the Martian landscape. It filled his heart and mind with a picture he would never forget in this lifetime. His soul felt heavy as the light slowly faded as he thought about the people that couldn

It was their last meeting. They knew it was over. There was nothing for either to say, but words came.

“Like, you think they will ever fix this special pasta meat sauce?” Alex said as he picked the hospital pasta.

“Dude, how can you think of food, when you’re like this,” Brian fired back in anger at his levity.

“So, I’m gonna be dead soon, what’s the problem with wanting a good last meal,” Alex said with another laugh.

Brian really could not deal with this humor; he wanted to be sad, but Alex is keeping him happy with jokes.

This thread has been dead for almost a year, but if anyone's still interested and needs some inspiration, i follow a blogger that frequently writes 100 words drabbles on random topics that readers suggest. Some are pretty funny, so check it out: Mr London Street

I might attempt this later.

Dad ignores the roast chicken dinner I prepared, it might as well have been cold shoulder of turkey instead. I smile at him, he scowls and retires early without saying goodnight. I know he's angry because he has this red V shape mark on his forehead that only shows when he's angry. I should never have taken his last ten bucks to gamble and will give it back. But the sixty grand I won at the casino is mine, until he trashes the attitude.

The boy’s giddy tone of excitement was infectious. “Hurry,’ he shouted while dashing down the long gallery of the Palace of Liberation.

Golden bands of sunlight, streaming through tall spotless windows, reflected off the polished marble floor.

“The experiment was terminated,” a second boy, rushing to catch up, breathlessly called out. “There was only one surviving subject.

“That’s what you were told,” the boy in the lead pushed open the door before them.

In the grand salon stood a five-year old child. Immature red and black-tipped wing buds emerged from the little boy’s back.

“Charles meet Jonathan you little brother.”

My Drabble

I stared at the monitor, as I finally braved the step into chat.

Would anyone notice me? Or talk to me?

I had found this site to read, nothing more, finding chat was an accident, one I shall never regret.

Strangers sent hugs and greetings with smiles. Were they really talking to me? I shyly said hi, and it all went from there.

So many friends, and some close ones too, the greeting is so warm; it’s now my usual routine.

I start up my PC and go straight to bookmarks. And then here, my second home GA.

Absorbing The Lesson

“The lesson is learned when the subject is properly absorbed.”

My tutor was an ass but he knew his stuff. That was his favorite quote. Now, I’m sitting here because I actually listened to him. I just decided to take his words and apply them literally. I had done things the hard way because I didn’t have a choice. I knew what I wanted and my plans required I study. I did, so others wouldn’t have to.

“I would like to introduce Samuel Forrester. His design of the first direct computer to cerebral cortex interface won him the Nobel Prize.”

The Loss of Innocence

Once upon a time, God created the heavens and mankind. The earth was fresh, new and innocent. The age of innocence, however, did not last long for the seven deadly sins came upon the holy land. The serpent, sublime and devious, envied man and lusted for devastation. Man, insatiable and greedy for power, gave in to the serpent’s temptation. Man’s failure to love him and obey his commands, raised God’s wrath and anger. Lucifer, the serpent, was banned from heaven, and man was banned from paradise. The seven sins reign over the world. And God is waiting for Man’s return.

Wow. One hundred words, not one more and not one less. Here is my attempt at a Drabble.

“Where did the little beast go?”

Dan crawled on the floor looking under the furniture.

“I don’t know, Daddy?”

“Billy, did you have to let him out of his cage right before we had to take him back to school?”

“But he wanted to play, Daddy!”

“Hurry up and get dressed, Billy” called Sarah.

Billy ran to his room.

“Did you find the thing?”

“No!”

“Great. I’ll be looking for a hamster all day, Alex.”

Billy came running back into the room carrying an empty cage but he was dressed.

Alex went to put on his shoes.

“Oh, found it.”
