Extended summary (of the story as a whole)! Shawn is an angry teen, disillusioned with life and harboring a deep hatred for everyone around him, including his own mother. Even he himself is not safe from his indiscriminate loathing. To add to his woes, he has a "personal tormentor" for the past few years by the name of Anthony. He isn't sure why Anthony seemingly singles him out, but he doesn't care. It just makes it easier to hate him. A chance encounter, however, will show them that they have more in common than they realize.
