Site Administrator Graeme Posted March 10, 2011 Site Administrator Posted March 10, 2011 Not Like Us by C James Sometimes, strange is in the eye of the beholder. :nuke: :nuke: Spoilers Below!!! :nuke: :nuke:
Red_A Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 This little ditty, is definitely not the usual output from C James. It can be read on two levels, fun and serious. Read it, and I bet you do not get the solution until the last Paragraph. After the fun, run it again, there is in my humble opinion another message.
Nephylim Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 That was hilarious. Only two meanings Red? I've picked out at least three... no, now I come to think of it... and looking at the past paragraph... four
Marzipan Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 This was such a treat for me! Wonderful night of reading great antho stories after hard weekend! This was one of my favourites :2thumbs:
MikeL Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 One of the shortest entries ever and one of the funniest...exactly what we should expect from our talented goat/author.
colinian Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Somehow I caught on about half-way through that these weren't humans having the discussion. What was a total surprise was that Chad was a human goatherd . Good job, CJ. Colin
C James Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks!!!! @ red A: Thanks for mentioning that. I was definitly out to write somthing that could be read in more than one way. @ Nephy: good catch: there are several themes to this story, and some are serious. Thanks everyone. I had fun with this one. It came on very short notice. I was making the graphic banner for the anthology, and suddenly, out of nowhere, the idea just popped into my head (proving that nature does indeed abhor a vacuum) so I changed screens and wrote it. This was just a few days before the deadline. It's only due to extraordinary quickness from my team that I had it ready in time for the anthology. (thanks guys!!!!) CJ
Site Administrator wildone Posted March 14, 2011 Site Administrator Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks Chad James Unfortunately I guess I have been around the goat way too much, I caught on right away. The names Billy and Mabel gave it away to me. Very interesting autobiography It must have been the bossy and always wanting to be in charge comment. Just Kidding Oh my, I'm just full of one liners this morning Great job CJ, this left a great smile on my face.
MikeL Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks Chad James Very interesting autobiography Surely you know his name is Cliff James.
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted March 14, 2011 Site Moderator Posted March 14, 2011 That's why it's easier just to call him CJ, you don't have to remember the correct name. It didn't take me long to figure out who was doing the talking in this story. It seems he can write under either of these conditions, drunk or sober, and keep them funny.
Benji Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 .............. Very funny, although I admit I didn't catch on until the last paragraph!
