Linxe Termoil Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I am so glad someone submitted poems for this anthology. It wouldn't be a proper legends anthology without them, I think. I find it even more fitting that you took characters from Greek mythology and history. Thanks for displaying your talents for all to see. Linxe
Dolores Esteban Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Thanks, Linxe. Glad you liked the poems.
Tejun Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 HI Dolores, The poem about Alexander's lover and the one about Achilles' lover. I found it amusing that both poems ended with each one promising greater glory, but in both cases, Alexander and Achilles were killed. Poetry is rarely rewritten, but if I was to rewrite these, I would make Alexander and Achilles more sad and suicidal. Make them promise to soon follow them to the grave.... because that is what they did. Tejun
Dolores Esteban Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Hi, thanks for reading and commenting. I was referring to the first poem...divine love is the greatest love. Therefore the promise. But, alas, they were not gods but mortals and so they followed to the grave. But we know Alexander as Alexander the Great and Achilles is an hero also. And the tragic love legend was passed on for centuries. So, in a sense they kept their promise. All fiction, of course Thanks for the feedback.
