I would love to post video embeds here from YouTube. I would love to have more of a presence here on the Café in general. But I can't. I don't understand. Pics and video embeds and stuff that work on ALL of my other boards are no problem. But it's EXTREMELY difficult to do here for some reason. I get constant errors and restrictions and...ugh!

 

Can you guys help me, please? Otherwise, I don't know why I even have this board here. I want to participate, but everything I do gets rejected, I assume for security reasons...or...something.

How can I just...do something that goes beyond this post asking for help? I won't abuse it. Promise. ::Fingers Up::

 

If it'smore than copying the 'embed code' of YouTube and pasting it here like I do everywhere else online...then I'm lost. So go slow. I'm not a 'techie' guy. Hehehe! I need careful training....

I was trying to give you hints and all, but I guess I need to be direct.  If you'd replied to my message in the previous thread, the code would have been revealed.

 

Anyway, you need to put the word media in brackets [].  Then, put the youtube link (no special code, just copy the URL from the web browser).  Then put /media in more brackets [].  That's it.

 

For example, if your video is: 

 

Then put that inside the media brackets.

 

Just type it like you see below:

One of the issues with GA is that server storage is really limited. So, rather than uploading pics, put them on an image host and link to them from here. The one I use the most is imgur.com. It doesn't require you to log in and as far as I know the images aren't ever removed unless they're illegal or unless you remove them.

 

So: upload pics to imgur.com - it's really quite easy, they have a great upload tool. After the images are up, copy the link and paste it into the image link in the editor.

I am SO lost when it comes to techie-stuff! I treat computers like I treat the remote control for my TV. An "On/Off' button is something I should be able to press and turn the TV...ummmm...'on' and 'off'. Period.

 

To a 'Techie'...they're thinking, "Lets change the phrase on and off to 'functional ad non functional'...but not tell anybody what the FUCK that means! Or how to find it on the screen! And while we're adding a bunch of functions that NOBODY is EVER going to use unless they're running a Fortune 500 company out of their house...they'll just have to deal with all the weird changes we're making and not explain to them wht the hell is going on! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I **JUST** want to type text into a box and have that be broadcasted to the people I love and care about! Why is that so HARD for techies to understand????????

 

Sorry, I know it's just me. I just...I want to be able to write and talk and share with you guys without having to take classes on how to navigate something which should be SO simple. That's just me though.
