"gone From Daylight" Returns To The Shack For Some Summer Sun&

Recommended Posts

Hehehe, awwww. Sorry, Ricky. You'll just have to learn to like more stuff. :)

Because of the wait I won't start anything else until it is "completed" I'm addicted to this one and the wait is interminable. It's a great story, as ALL yours are. ANother 15 or 20 chapters and "A Class" will be done. Then I can move on to another of your wonderful stories. And NO METEORS!

Ah ll...you'll be missing out! Soooooo much good stuff happening in the stories right now! I can't write "Class" 100% of the time. I'd be letting everybody ELSE down! :P

That's TOTALLY your choice though! I get it.

But...seeing as it's all YOUR choice not to read nothin' else...you don't get to 'poke' me or complain anymore! :o That's all on YOU, dude! So shush!

*You're* the one at the 31 Flavors ice cream parlor, walking out because they're out of Rocky Road. 30 More flavors waiting if you want some! :)

First of all, I'm not your only reader of that story. But there was a period where I waited almost 2 years for the next chapter. That's a long time to jones. If you were a mediocre writer it wouldn't be a big gig, but you're good. And at my age you grow afraid of kicking the bucket before you get to the end of the story. I'd really HATE to be a bound spirit just because I didn't get the end of a great story like this one. And I'm not missing anything because, In the words of Jan from the movie Dark Crystal, "Uhm, writing? well, they're words that stay." So they'll be there.

And no one is asking for 100% but a chapter every month or two instead of an annual installment would be welcome.

Poor Billy Chase must think the 9th grade was the best 4 years of his life! I know you write what gets the most talk, you're a bit of a whore that way. And that's not saying it's a bad thing. But different "types" of readers read different things and just because the readers of "A Class" don't rant and rave at the shack doesn't mean you have any less of a readership for this story. They are just shy and less verbose. In my humble opinion, especially since in your own words you don't read reviews not left at the shack, that you may not see how many fans you are disenfranchising without realizing it.

But we love you and your stories so we'll take what we can get.

And one more thing, being out of Rocky Road is flat unacceptable. EVEN though I'm a butter Pecan sorta guy. Rocky Road is a staple for ANY creamery. Like Chocolate Vanilla and Strawberry! So even if I was a purest, I'd have to walk on the lack of Rocky Road JUST because I stand for diversity.

So don't put it on me. You "deserve" the guilty conscience, not me.

Oh and since you're writing Billy Chase and GFD 100% of the time I guess I know where I stand. I must not be worthy of an "Else"

Damn it and I thought we were done with SCOTUS. Second class AGAIN.

I'm sure that I'm a whore in a LOT of ways! LOL! But writing stories isn't one of them. Otherwise, I wouldn't have resurrected as many stories as I have in the past six months.

So if anybody is looking for a guilty conscience on MY end? They will be severely disappointed! :P I actually got so many complaints from people whining about this and that, that I BUILT a section on the top of the Comicality Library (http://www.voy.com/17262/) So I could keep track of things! Because I'm insecure! I thought, "If people are whining and complaining THIS much...I must really be slacking!!!" But I'm not. I'm NOT!!!! I have a chart that shows what I've just posted, and how long it's been since my last story. And you know what? Most of the time...the longest gap between offerings is a couple of days at MOST! So if people are still upset and have something to 'yap' about...it's NOT because I'm being the jerk in this 'relationship' between writer and reader. I sit here and type until my fingers BLEED for you guys! And I answer personal emails and run multiple message boards on TOP of it all! So if there's somebody who has complaints about it...it's not because I'm not KILLING myself to provide them with new chapters. It's because their picky and only want to read one or two stories out of a hundred. And that's fine. But no...I don't feel guilty at all.

What would REALLY be tragic...is me working SOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking hard on exiling myself from friends and family andnot being able to have any fun at all in my REAL life...not being able to make enough money at work to survive like a normal human being....and then DYING at a young age without finishing the stories at all! :P Then you all would outlive me, NEVER get an ending to the stories, and spend the rest of your lives knowing that everybody was robbed of an ending because their peer pressure caused me to die early, trying to meet an impossible demand from people who outnumber me a million to one...who couldn't just WAIT until I got a new chapter ready. THAT would be tragic. Just saying.

It would be awesome to have a few people in my corner right now. Just a few. I ***JUST*** started the Summer updates, LITERALLY, a week and a half ago! I told everybody that I had a bunch of chapters to post! If you guys just *WAIT*.....PLEASE...just friggin WAIT....a few days, you may just be surprised by what's coming. Instead of seeing ONE story and digging into me. K? Please?

PLEASE???

Everybody complains that it takes YEARS for a new chapter! I posted "Jesse-101" in less than a year. "GFD" in less than a year. "Waiting Outside The Lines", "A Class By Himself", "New Kid", "Kiss Of An Angel", in less than a year. I write as fast as I can. People forget what they're asking of me. PLEASE tell me anyone else who posts as often as I do. ANYBODY? Even with ONE story. Just ONE!

Go to the Library. Everybody can see how often I post. And that was even for the Summer updates. I'm all over the place. If I'm in 100 places at once, and someone decides to avoid 98 of those places...please don't treat it like *I'M* not doing my job. I am, k? I'm working my ASS off. And I refuse to feel guilty about not pleasing anyone who isn't paying me a lot of money to be their personal assistant. Hehehe, but maybe we can work that out if you're interested! :P

And I ALWAYS look for reviews on GA! :o Really, dude? I check all the time! I just know what to expect. Right now..."GFD"....almost 250 reads! Yay! How many reviews? Two. Yep...two. And I totally appreciate it! But over 200 people just read it and left. Over 200. So, yeah, I always check...but I'm happy if I get 5 comments off of anything. No matter HOW hard I work on it. Five people...taking 30seconds to say thanks.

So what am I in a 'rush' for?

No feedback, no thanks, no money...I'm just writing for my own pleasure and throwing it out into the ether, hoping a small handful of people enjoy it and feel like letting me know. :: shrugs ::

I want to write more, dude. I really do. And faster. But I can't. I know nobody believes me, but it's the truth. I CAN'T! I can only tell them to wait, or not wait, or...whatever. Nobody can say that I don't type my fingers down to the bone marrow, trying to keep up with things. So I take no responsibility for other people's impatience. I just can't. It's like if somebody got in their car and had a 25 minute commute to work...and I'm like, "That's not good enough! Make it in FIVE minutes!" How is somebody supposed to make that without KILLING themselves??? That's what people are asking of me. They act like it's not that serious, but it is. This is what they're asking of me. "Screw your friends, and your life, and your family, and your job, and EVERYTHING....and drain yourself emotionally for our entertainment at a rate that is EXTREMELY overwhelming and exhausting in every definition of the word! Oh...and yeah...we want you to do that...FOREVER!!!!!"

Ummm, no. Not gonna happen. I'd rather have people be mad at me.

Lesser of two evils.

Now...it has been ONE week! I've posted three stories. Show me a smile, k? If only a fake one. :(

Also..."Billy chase" and "GFD" aren't 100%. I posted "All eyes watching", "Waiting Outside The Lines", "Jesse-101", "GFD: Fanboys", also...but maybe you don't like any of those either and are waiting for them to be finished. You see how much work I put in that you don't 'care' about? I don't see how that's my fault and something to poke me about. It hardly seems fair. :(

Wow, cosmie, take a chill pill. First, you are an awesome writer. One of the most awesome I have ever read. But here's the thing. Being a writer, one who writes meaty chapters, have had as many as 4 stories open at once. It was an arduous task to produce a chapter a week. So I KNOW how tough that can be. At last count and that was some time ago, you had 66 stories open at once. THAT is more then ambitious, that's insane. But what I've noticed is that you just keep starting new ones.

Here's a thought, just a suggestion. Keep writing but don't open new ones until you have it down to a manageable level. Write the new ones that are screaming to get out while they're fresh but don't post them until you get to a point where you are caught up or the new one is finished. You can use the time posting a chapter a week of the finished story to get caught up on the ones started in 2008.

Cosmie it's just frustrating to see a dozen chapters each of the others and still nothing on the one you (I've) set in my head that I would continue to follow. I'm really sorry if I've offended you. But it's because you're over extended and are choosing to stay that way.

I love your work. I can't wait to read the others. But for me, reading work as good as yours is, requires an emotional involvement in the story. I personally can't do that for years at a time. So I safeguard my heart by not starting one until I am sure I can read the resolution. I'm old and you write too well for me to invest and remain hanging.

Sorry, it's just how it is. I have a soft heart.

No offense. K? Promise.

More than anything, I just want people to understand the reality of the situation. IF anybody wants to read a Comsie strory...there's a new one there ever week. And there are people who enjoy them, every week. I write stories, I'm on the message boards, I answer emails as often as possible. I'm not hard to find at all. I am ALWAYS here.

Now...that is 100% of my effort. Every single day of my life. That's what I'm giving. That's what I want people to know about me.

If that's not enough for some people...then I'm totally cool with that. If you're 'frustrated' with updates on a certain story or not, that's fine too. I know what it feels like. I've been to sites that have kept me waiting forever too. And it IS frustrating! I totally understand, and I thank you for thinking that my writing is worth complaining about. I really do. So I don't take any offense, k?

But I'm always here. I'm always posting. I go out of my way to really maintain a presence online. Always. So...I mean...can you not see how it can be insulting to start posting new stories and instantly get jumped on about what I haven't posted YET...when I'v only had a few days to post anything at all? I mean...am I crazy? I post "Billy Chase" and somebody complains, "Where is 'New Kid'?" I post New Kid and somebody complains, "Where is 'Class'?" I post 'Class', and somebody complains, "Where is 'Jesse-101'?"

It gets to be fucking ANNOYING!!! It reaches a point where nobody appreciates ANYTHIN that I do because they always want something that I didn't post yet!

But fine. I'm done. This is me taking my chill pill.

you'll just have to stay frustrated until you get what YOU want. But please do me a favor?

If you're frustrated, I don't need to hear it with every story I post. K? I KNOW that it was a joke based on the video I made, and I get it. No hard feelings at all.

I just...I'm trying to get as much positive feedback as I can for every chapter that I post. I really hope people will like what I write, because I work really hard on it. Sometimes it sucks to read, "I don't care about this story. Write something else." I know you didn't mean it that way. ((Hugz)) But sometimes, that's how it feels.

Do you understand where I'm coming from on this?

I really don't know what else to say on this. So I'll let it go and just keep on writing.

At some point, I hope one or two of my Summer updates will be worthy of your love and attention, and you'll have something nice to say....

until then...you'll just have to be frustrated. Sorry. :(

I understand and will comply. You are one of the best authors I have ever read. Your stories suck you in to the reality of it. It's a great experience. I didn't mention the number you had open to complain, indeed I wish I had that many stories in me. But you put out so much value and it's all incredible stuff. I just don't want you to burn out and the world lose one of its greatest authors.

I'm really sorry if I carried the joke too far. I do that sometimes. I do from time to time check for completions and read or reread them.

So you just keep doing what you do, and I'll try and be more patient and supportive. And I think I may have a book or two of GFD to read. I may just have to start that one again. I haven't read since the fight in the hospital and that was quite a while back.

Stay well, stay positive. Hugs.

I see I missed a lot of the drama here, but I just kinda want to put my opinion into the mix

Waiting for stories to be complete is a valid thought, one that many have. But there is always two sides to an opinion.

Cosmie is a special writer, one that is like NO other. In fact, I should say ONLINE authors are like no other.

Take this example okay. When you buy a book on your kindle or in a bookstore, the book is complete. You read it, enjoy it (hopefully LoL), and then you're done. But with Cosmie? I don't just read the stores and enjoy them....I live WITH them. It's like watching your favourite TV Show...you don't just watch one episode and that's it, you GROW with the characters. They are growing with you. I'm watching The Fosters and Jude & Connor #Jonnor are growing up with me. Same with music, Greyson Chance is growing up WITH me. The fact I can do the same with Ryan & Randy, and Derrick & Tanner, and just all of my favourite stories Cosmie offers is a truly special gift.

So yes, Ricky, I understand your position. I do. But don't act like Cosmie is disappointing millions by not having his stories completed right now. Because I am in his corner 100% and am really enjoying going on for the ride.

*Drops Mic*

How was that? :D

Greetings---my first post on GA!

First things first: Comicality, you are freakin' awesome.

I wanted to post here because though I don't want to pressure Comsie at all, I fully empathize with Ricky. My back-story:

I've been an avid Nifty reader for many years. Somehow, I never did run across any Comicality stories until February 12. That was the day "New Kid" was last updated. I saw how many chapters there were and decided to read the first one to see if I might like it.......

Well, now I understand that reading Comsie's stories are the literary equivalent of a crack addiction. My addiction grew in intensity until I was biting off 6 or 7 chapters a day, even reading at work. I looked over the Nifty dates for each release and saw that "New Kid" began in 1998, and once went almost 2 years between updates. I knew the withdrawal would be hard when I reached the latest chapter. It was.

I found the shack. It was immediately clear that GFD was a very big deal, but I've never understood the fascination with vampires and I just don't read that stuff or get into it much. So I read "A Class" which of course is incredible. Then oh those withdrawal pangs again!

So, "Maybe I'll just read a chapter or two of GFD....." So much for not liking vampire stories.

So began another massive binge. Then "Savage Moon."

But then yes, I stopped. Self imposed "Comsie rehab." I know I will love "jessie" and all the others, and some day I will read them. But as Ricky and others know, these stories get in your soul, and when you reach the last chapter you feel like you're losing touch with these characters that are now so much a part of our hearts--and you don't know when you will see them again.

Comicality, you are hands down the best writer of teen male gay stories I have ever read, and I've read a lot. Thank you for all of it. "New Kid" is still my favorite, but I love them all so far. Like so many out there, I will patiently await the next update to each great story, and welcome it.

I think the depth of presence within the story by the reader varies from person to person. I find Cosmie writes them all so well that I am able to immerse myself in the bubble of fantasy to the point that I am "in" the story. I think that is why I find it more devastating emotionally when the last chapter arrives. I understand your position Cosmie and I never meant to hurt you I assure you and I understand your position. So I will be silently patient. I agree with greycloud, you are the best. And I will truly enjoy every story you write as each is completed.

Thanks for sharing your gifts with us.

Cheers.

So don't put it on me. You "deserve" the guilty conscience, not me.

Like Chocolate Vanilla and Strawberry! So even if I was a purest, I'd have to walk on the lack of Rocky Road JUST because I stand for diversity.

Reminds me of a joke...

Man walks into an ice cream parlor, looks at the menu and orders... 'I'd like a scoop of Chocolate on a cone, please."

Clerk: I'm sorry, Sir, but we're out of Chocolate.

Man: Well, I guess I'll have a Chocolate sundae with Chocolate Ice Cream, I just love Chocolate.

Clerk: Sir, I told you we have no Chocolate.

Man: Okay... Gosh.. .How about a Chocolate Milk Shake.

The Clerk was getting a bit frustrated...

Clerk: Sir, Please look at the menu, do you see the "Straw" in Strawberry?

Man: Yes...

Clerk: Do you see the "Van" in Vanilla?

Man: I do.

Clerk: Do you see the FUCK in Chocolate?

The man studies the menu for a moment...

Man: There's not Fuck in Chocolate!

Clerk: That, Sir, is what I've been trying to tell you.

Comsie: They say that the best things come to those who wait, and I am more than willing to do so. However, it can be hard on some readers. I've yet to find a DOG in any of your writings, so I guess I'll try to be patient... but I do reserve the right to bug you about it!

Thanks, you guys. And I really want you to know that I totally get what you're saying. I do. I've read stories or watched shows on TV and had to endure the frustration of having to wait to find out what happens next. I really do understand where you guys are coming from. I just hope you understand that sometimes what people are asking of me is impossible. Like...physically impossible. Just 'posting' a story here on the site and putting the word out on the mailing list and the library, etc alone takes me close to an hour to complete. And that's the part that comes after all of the hard work is done.

But I really do try, k? If you guys are ever getting that itch, and you start feeling frustrated, just remember that there is absolutely NO way humanly possible for me to write as fast as you guys can read. And that every story or series has a deserving fanbase that wants to get their fix too.

I totally appreciate you guys though! Now then...who wants cake? Hehehe!
