Looking For A Story

Hey all, I'm trying to remember a particular story about a boy who falls in love with a man. The man came from out of nowhere and was looking for a farm job. The boy's family had a farm and the boy's father employed him. The boy and the guy fell in love soon after a few chapters. However at the end, Vietnam War came around and the guy was deployed. The main character has 3 brothers. Two of his brothers were deployed as well. But, only the oldest one came back alive. There was also a sequel story of the series.
