Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 2, 2016 Site Administrator Share Posted August 2, 2016 Moi je pense qu'il faut faire un forum bilingue afin que les autres nationalités puissent suivre le forums. C'est juste une idée. Google translation: I think we have a bilingual forum so that other nations can follow the forums. It's just an idea. I appreciate what you're requesting, but we only have a volunteer staff and administrating a bilingual forum would require staff that are bilingual. Unfortunately, most of us are not. That's why we ask that everyone uses English. We appreciate that this reduces the richness that a bilingual forum would allow, but in practise we don't have much choice. Sorry. Link to comment
Timothy M.
And it's good practise for us non-native speakers to read and write in English in the forums before we tackle writing reviews or stories. 4 Link to comment
clochette
If we'd start doing a bilingual English-French forum then other people would ask for Danish/Spanish/German/Hungarian... bilinguals forums and we wouldn't see the end of it. Like Graeme said it's already a lot of work for the admin and mods who do this for free and on their own time. GA don't hide the fact that it's an English only website, if it bother you... Plus, personally I like stories in English better, I find the words in French kinda weird (or maybe it's just cause I'm used to English now) Edited August 2, 2016 by clochette 1 Link to comment

clochette
...or maybe it's because we've stolen so many French words Yes but I think we both took words from each other But what I meant is that in French we've got 1 word to express like 2 feelings/emotions when English have multiple words to express 1 thing. 1 Link to comment

Sorry. anaisac29 I have to agree with Graeme. This site was started and is located in the US. The default language is English. The owner and volunteer staff (administrators and moderators, except for one) are from English speaking countries. Ga welcomes everyone from anywhere that are willing to follow the rules. Of the 21,000 membership I think well over 99% speak English. The staff must be able to understand everything said or written here, to protect individual members and the site it self from all the rules and regulations that the site must follow, in order to stay open. In an ideal world I would agree with you. Unfortunately reality makes the one language rule a necessity. Sincerely Sandrewn Edited August 2, 2016 by sandrewn 2 Link to comment
