Description

Devastated by the loss of his mother, Caleb enters his final year of high school facing an uncertain future and plagued by the bullies who have been making his life a misery. When a new boy with a mysterious past arrives at the school, Caleb is thrust headlong into a series of events that will make senior year the most important time of his life yet.

Story Note

The characters and events depicted in this story are entirely fictitious. This story is partly inspired by the uncompleted work "Superheroes" by Brady York which first appeared on the Nifty stories archive, as well as the segment "Diana's Piano" from the animated TV special "Garfield: His 9 Lives". Dedicated with gratitude to my friends and family, especially my wife, for all the support and encouragement in helping my very first attempt at a large-scale written work see the light.

At the behest of some of you, and considering music forms such a central part to this story, I have included an imaginary soundtrack to Stronger Than Lions in an alternate universe where it was made into a film. It is a hodgepodge of ideas that came to me as I wrote, and thought, “this would seem perfect.” Hope you enjoy.
