Poems for Ross - 4. and then there was you

Poem No. 8

Song Lyrics:

My heart wandered around in disarray

Never thought I could find love in any form or way

Sweet ignorant bliss I thought should be mine

Love sought an odd word, how could it be defined?

I saw boys and girls who drifted by

I never noticed as though they were clouds in the sky.

And then there was you.

You made my heart sing out.

You.

You made my world turn about.

How blind I was before

I couldn't see beyond my blue

And now my heart wants to soar

All just because of you.

How sweet our lives shall be

When we can throw out our blue

For God's union to see

When you know that I love you.

Poem No. 9

Prelude:

There's a flower that I can faintly see,

it's existence is a wonder to me

that such a thing unearthly can be.

Poem:

Wonderment!

is the only word I can choose

for a frame of mind

in which to place

your thought.

Wonderment!

at every notion of you;

at the mention of you

my heart goes limp

for sure.

Wonderment!

is the only thing I know

when you are by me;

all I'd need is the Earth

to know you're there.

Postlude:

There's a flower that I can faintly see,

if I close my eyes then it's clear to me

that it's plainly not to be.

AC, I don't know.
One of two things has to happen: either you need to write worse poetry, or I need to stop reviewing it...
I can't say anything which will express how well you capture what's gone on in my past, or lingers in my heart.
I'm glad I never became a teacher because what poetry and literature does to me is far too personal to survive in the cold analytical light of day. We can but guess at what a prose author meant by his words--only he knows for sure, and though the poet has put his heart out for us to see, it won't survive the surgeon's critical eye and remain as vibrant.
Maybe from now on, I'll content myself with a :2thumbs: or a

Friday night.
Reading my last story for the day, before heading to bed.
Arrow on it's way the the "sign out" button, I see there are notifications and open them.
F***, Al posted more Poems for Ross.
I hesitate.
Should I go and read them now or save the pleasure for the morning.
If I read them now, chances are they will be milling in my mind and keep me from falling asleep quickly.
On the other hand, if I don't read them now I will be wondering what I missed.
Oh, you know you're weak and are not able to resist, so click the link already !
I read the two poems on the screen.
I print them out, like I always do.
Go over them a few more times.
I smile and sign out.
I know I will sleep well tonight.

You better not 'content yourself' with just an emoticon! I love hearing your thoughts, and what would a poet like me do with love and support from his friends..? IDK, and do not want to find out ;)
