As Dan led me to the bed I had a thought.
“Wait just a second Dan.” I said, and he looked confused.

Mama looked at Dan then to me and paled slightly.
“Kyaila, do you know who this is?”
She looked down at her feet as she shook her head slightly.
“That is Daniel, who is Matt’s partner and you know who Matt is don’t you?”
She nodded sheepishly.
I walked over with Dan.
“It really isn’t any trouble at all, err...”

Finer details were planned before we said our goodbyes and left.
“An old friend?” Dan asked.

I had forgotten just how cold it was in these caves to the east. Vast peaks stuck up like shark’s teeth towards the sky. Almost the entire mountain range was covered by a thick blanket of snow, another reminder of Christmas approaching. I must contact my parents, I thought.
As I reached the large circular plain, about half a kilometre across, which was formed by a ring of mountains all sloping down towards the same place, I heard the rumble of the masters of the mountain.
