The past comes to life as two boys, linked through their 22nd century implants, dream of a brutal gay bashing. But is the past really the past, or was it the future that was just a dream? This story takes place approximately a century in the future. It is pure science fiction and the author neither endorses nor decries some of the purported societal changes that will take place, particularly with respect to the use of cybernetic implants. The author is well aware of the controversies involved in some of the positions taken by the Catholic Church with respect to homosexuality, gay marriage and the gender and celibacy of the priesthood, and the mere idea that some of these positions might be reversed by the Vatican over the course of the next century should be taken as pure conjecture and nothing more. The author retains full copyright of this story.
