Site Rules relevant to GA Stories:
a)Copyright Violations: Do not publish, post, distribute or disseminate any defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful material or information; upload or attach files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy)unless the user owns or controls the rights thereto or has received all necessary consents; upload or attach files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer; delete any author attributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in any file that is uploaded; or falsify the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded; Finally, do not download any file posted by another user that the user knows, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
Just to be completely clear: neither naked pictures, nor links to naked pictures of any kind will be allowed for any reason at any time.
c) GA Stories: GA Stories is an area where members can post their original stories and poems. Members may also, via GA Stories, leave reviews for Authors. The same rules that apply to posts on the GA forums above also apply to the review system in GA Stories. Any Reviews found to be in violation of these rules will be removed without the consent of the author, and the author may be subject to further moderator action.
d) Stories in GA Stories must not be solely adult in nature. Therefore stories that do not have a plot, characterization, or do have (at the discretion of the management) excessive sexual encounters will be removed.
e) We do not condone children having sex, being used as sexual object, or being described in ways that adults would find arousing.
f)Relationships should always be between two persons of a like age group. Teens with teens, adults with adults. A young adult with an older teen is a like age group. An adult with a young teen is not a like age group.
g) Stories with rape for titillation, glorifying suicide or drug use, bestiality, cannibalism, or necrophilia will be subject to moderator review and possible rejection.
h)Stories that do not meet these requirements may be removed by Site Management.
i)Members may, at any time, unpublish and request deletion of their selected, or collective, works at any time without any further obligation to GayAuthors.org, its site management team, or its parent company CDEJR Web Services, Inc.
Content Guidelines and Tips
These are the posting guidelines most often violated in GA Stories by new members that trigger a pm by staff and/or removal of your submission.
a) All poems or flash fiction stories under 1k in length MUST be placed in collections. You cannot post them all as individual stories. You can do different collections, say if you do free form poetry and haiku, but don't overdo it!
Don't use the series field unless you are posting the 2nd story in a series (you may then go back and put in the series information in the first story). Before you start posting that 2nd story, you don't actually have a series, so don't use it!
c) Many users include a double return code between paragraphs in Word without realizing it. These must be eliminate or you get huge paragraph spacing in the GA text editor. First, select all your text in Word. Then click the 'replace' option. Insert ^p^p into the find field, and ^p into the replace field. That will eliminate the spaces. Then go to your paragraph/line spacing option. Using the pop up box that appears, scroll down to paragraph spacing. Set the 'before' option to 0 and the 'after' option to Auto. Then click save. If you complete these steps, you will have eliminated the spaces between the paragraphs, yet the file will look 'normal' in Word as well.
d) Don't post anything but story text in the story text box. Copyright and author notes all have their own fields for you to use.
e) Please follow GA's ToS as to content. You should have read this already, but this link goes to the content rules.
f) Do NOT post multiple stories/chapters/poems all at once. We ask that you submit only 1 chapter to begin with a new story submission. Also, no more than 4-7 chapters or short stories a week TOTAL, not just for each story you have. If you post a new story with multiple chapters, they will NOT be approved at once. This affects how they show up in the recent story updates and you will get less promotion for your story/poems. You need to either post them individually or use the post dating system available in GA Stories.
*Post Dating System*
This is very simple. For your story, and individual chapters, you can post date the publishing. The story publish option is just above the story description area. If you uncheck the 'Published?' box, and leave the publish time blank, it will not publish the story until you do it manually. You can do the same thing with the 'Chapter Published?' box just below the text editor.
You can also click on the calendar next to the chapter publish time field and use that to pick a date and time to submit your story; this way you don't have to publish it yourself. If you have a story published, you can use the chapter publish box to submit multiple chapters, set to publish every few days/once a week.
