Just some words - 1. Breathe deep

Breathe deep

of rain-drenched soil

of heated earth bathed by summer sun

of the young green things growing there

of this rich heady scent

breathe deep

this smell of life.

While not the first comment this is the very first "review" for something I wrote so thank you. I hope that you continue to enjoy those bits yet to come.

Love it, dugh... every... single... word... just beautiful... cheers... Gary....

Thank you Gary. As you know I had a lot of encouragement to change to author and publish my writings. I hope that this and future scribblings are worthy of the support from you and the others.

Very evocative, dugh!

I like it.

Thank you. These words came to me as during a morning walk with my pup. We'd had heavy rain the night before and the fields were heavy with moisture, with life. I hope that you will continue to enjoy what I may add here in the future.

Sorry.. not paying attention to what's going on!
Aw this is a dugh poem ... :) I get to say that cuz Gary says some of mine are tim poems!!
Seriously though, this is lovely and it brings memories of the garden and the scents found there, and of buzzing insects and everything being all right with the world. Being in the garden with mum are some of my good childhood memories. Thanks for this dugh and I'm so glad you decided to give a permanent home to your poetry on GA.

I'm so glad my words evoked happy memories for you. My family is blessed with a number of "paint on canvas" artists. I can't do what they do instead I try to paint with words the things I see and simply hope that those impressions somehow work.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and encouragement to share my words with others. Namaste.

Beautiful. The smell of soil, and indeed the feel of it beneath fingernails, says 'spring' to me. And so does this lovely poem. Glad you joined our merry author band :)

Wow!!! I wonder why I never made any attempt to write anything on this situation. May be because of the enchantment in which my senses forgot the world itself to feel it. I loved that feeling every time. After reading your poem that feeling came to me as it is. That was a fantastic poem.

After all our effort to drag to the poets mob, has its profits. Such a mesmerizing poem. Loved it.
