Breathless Words to Find My Own - 1. i took your words and made them my own

A short poem created by rearranging the words of a dating site message.

It’s really hard to put words to myself.
I never know where, but I’m the type of guy that loves
Long walks in the woods,
Holding hands, and who I am with

Know I’m safe

With them I want to live near a beach
Someday in Washington, Oregon,
Or Colorado Rockies.
For now I love in woods, Idaho, finding them
Hopelessly Romantic of sorts, I try to catch
Before fall, my favorite color is green,
Run, work, read, write, learn, and people
Watching is fun, fit with Psych and training,
I write poetry, and things get interesting.
I love tea leaves discreet and
Professionally fun, rolling, resilient,
I’ve been through building up,
I aspire to be true and dream higher
Complex, East and West,
In my younger years and we are all innocence.
Left out and messaging for you.

Chapter Comments

It's very innovative and extremely well done. Once, a long time ago now, I was at poetry reading where a Canadian poet (a woman) had created 'found' sonnets by going through Gay porn, pulling out 10 syllable lines, stinging them together, and concluding it with a couplet from one of Shakespeare's Sonnets.

I laughed out loud at one point in the reading, and the woman made a point of finding me later and telling me I did good. The room was much too stuffy before I broke the tension.

Anyway, if you are willing, please explore this technique a bit more. You've done it really well here!
