Lux's Indulgences - 1. Stupendous

It’s unbelievable, sometimes

To have something, someone to care for

That you are actually here

In my space

Living

It’s unbelievable, sometimes

That we’ve bonded like this

That we can go for walks and play

That you are happy to see me

When I come home

It’s unbelievable, sometimes

That you’ve come to trust me

That you can rely on me

That you want my affection

Even when I’m difficult

It’s unbelievable, but

Maybe I should start believing

Sometime

Love it, lux! I can see this being cathartic for you. Sometimes putting our thoughts into poetry, we can sort through the miasma, and isolate the important stuff. It works for me, anyway. The narrator needs to learn to appreciate what he has, and also that he deserves it... awesome... cheers... Gary....

Oh, my, Lux, you have perfectly expressed emotions and thoughts that have occurred to me forever. And here they are, so very well spoken, so fittingly said. It is sometimes so very hard to believe, and yet that is precisely what we must learn to do. That learning can be so very difficult sometimes, and we make it so. Gary's 'awesome' finds an echo from me, and kudos besides...

Called love, my friend. Yeah and sometimes it's overwhelming and hard to believe, but then he says,'simple as that!' And you know it's real. Liked your poem, very much!

The funny thing is that I best most readers will have no idea that I'may writing about my cat. ;)

Thanks for reading, and the affirmation. It's definitely something I need lately.

Thanks Parker. I hope at least some of these will be able to touch beyond my own experience and state of mind; it's good to know that started off on the right foot.

Thanks Tim! I have to settle for 'meow' with this guy, though. ;)

This is a touching piece. I like the theme you used: being cared for even when you personally find yourself difficult to be cared for. I'll try to check out more of your writing. Thanks for sharing :).
