Timmy's Journal - 17. Forgiveness and Stew 2 poems

Forgiveness is the final of four poems that are the results of my husband's indiscretion. No I'm not gonna hide from it or from talking about it. Nothing is fixed if you hide from it.
Three of them are in Musings of a Messed Up Mind - No Joy To The World, Guilt and Falling.
Stew is the end of my 'food meets metre' thang... thank the lords of the universe for that!!

Forgiveness

You took us for granted; strayed from our life
then lied when I asked if you were alright.
A deception you wove, to blind what I see
But you couldn’t hide from yourself.

The confession slid from your
once flawed mouth, onto my frightened ears.
I didn’t want to hear such truths
from the one who holds my heart.

It’s out now and done. Our first big test
Though tender, we did not break
I believe you and take your hand - I love you
Our bond stronger now than before.

Stew

In winter we eat lots of stew;

carrots onions potatoes too.

The beef and gravy join - so brown.

My dumplings are the best in town.

Stew... perfect meter, and the last line made me chuckle. Forgiveness is a tim poem... my already raw emotions swirl as I absorb this... incredible... much love and respect... Gary

Nothing like a bowl of stew shared with friends ... and dumplings.

My heart is both saddened and made glad with Forgiveness. The earlier poems filled me with trepidation fearing the truth in them. I am glad you have the strength to forgive.

dugh, I'm not gonna give up years of love for one stupid mistake. Michael's forgiven and put up with a lot from me..and he's never not been there. We're talking and working through it, I've forgiven it and him... we're gonna be okay.

May your hearts mend, and your lives again blend; may you be fixed in twain, ever again. Loved Forgiveness, as you can tell.
And when I am I invited for dumplings? Great additions to your journal, Tim.

Hey tim

Forgiveness is a testimony of the strong bond that you and Michael share. It really is heartening to know that love can survive if one can look beyond the mistake and see that it is only an action and not the person themselves. People are not infallible...
Stew. It made me hungry - despite the turkey dinner, pumpkin pie snd trifle (get this, my SIL made the non-alcoholic adult kind Yay!). I want some now.... :)

We are not perfect beings. There is such power in forgiveness, in choosing to love. It was Ghandi (I'm positive) who said that, and also forgiveness is an attribute to the strong. Which you are. I was moved by this one..
When you fire up those dumplings for Parker, I'll take an order of Gyoza, please and thank you.
Lovely Tim..

Two more lovely poems tim!

Forgiveness was raw and moving ...but ended in a good place.

Stew was simply ...tasty!

He SD, ty for your cool comments. Oh that metre thing -stew- was driving me around the twist. I'm glad it's done.

Thanks

Hey Reader. Its easy to walk away from a relationship, neither of us wanted that. So we're fixing it.

Still want to eat! Egad! You're made of stronger stuff than I am!

Thanks for the review and comments.

Hey Def, nope we're not perfect and Mike and I have been through a lot. We can deal with this, too.

Omg have you made dumplings or perogy? Alone? Oh so much work, so I guess I better get on it!

Thanks my friend

I have to agree with Headstall, the last line in Stew brought on a chuckle. With winter just around the corner, you can't go wrong with a big steaming bowl of chicken stew with dumplings to shake off the cold. :P

Stew - as an exercise in metre, it's spot on. As a poem about food, it's salivation worthy. As for your dumplings....oh, well. I guess I'll have to take your word on that. :)
