Hearts Belongings - 2. Beginnings

Beginnings

Can I hold your hand?

My eyes spoke with clarity,

I was drawn to your serenity.

You see the guilt in me and understand.

You gave it so freely.

My insides cheered at the thrill of it,

I told you stories about the better parts of me.

Desiring that you would form part of me.

One, we would be complete.

Seated on the throne of hope,

Opposing feelings in me, you evoke.

And those thoughts in my mind compete.

Please say you would be mine.

I've been here, all this time, waiting.

You ripped the seams of my reality.

With the possibilities of what we could be.

A promise from your quivering lips.

I relieved that it had come to this,

The heart in me, you filled with bliss.

And sealed it with your fleeting kiss.
