Prologue

You know what’s funny?

It's funny to have a dream of the perfect life and the perfect love. To work for years to achieve that perfect life and that perfect love, to become obsessed over it, to work and work for it every single day, to go through pain and heart break just to try to make it happen.

And when it finally does happen, you feel as if everything you went through was all worth it. You finally sit down and allow yourself to be happy. You stop worrying. You feel as if you are on top of the world, as if nothing can tear you down.

And then it happens.

After all of that ... all of it just falls apart.

Within the hour everything is gone.

That perfect life, that perfect love … shattered

Then everything goes back to the way it was before.

And … You're completely alone.

October of 2009

Just as everything had gotten as bad as it could have possibly gotten in his life, he realized that tonight had been no comparison to the previous tragedies and heart breaks in his life. Who is he? His name is Miracle Hart. A lonely boy who only ever wanted to be loved by someone … anyone. Just a boy who wanted to feel special, and who wanted to feel as if his life really mattered to someone. A boy that just wanted to know that he wasn't worthless.

While all of those things finally came to pass for him, it didn't last. Not like he had hoped it would anyway. Everything just changed; nothing would be the same between Miracle and Jaemin.

Miracle stood there in the bedroom that had once been a sanctuary of their love and held the memories that they’d shared together. Now it was just a place of death and destruction. Not only was he surrounded by it, but he had also become covered in it. He was covered in the blood and death that had just taken place within the room and his body trembled as he stared at the dead body that lay upon the bed, dimly hearing the sound of screeching tires as the car outside drove away.

His face was soaked in tears and he could only watch as Jaemin moved away from the bed and out the door of the room in such a strange and hauntingly calm way.

"Jaemin?" he cried out in a soft tone, looking down at his hands before he moved to follow him all the way down the stairs only to find Jaemin sitting down in the frame of the opened front door.

"Jaemin?" he called softly, but there was still no response from his lover.

Miracle slowly moved over to where he sat and kneeled down in front of him to look into his eyes.

That was the night that Jaemin had died. Not a physical death, but an emotional one. He just wasn't there anymore. The light that had shone in his eyes had faded, faded away like a light bulb that was losing its battle for electricity.

For Miracle, it would be the biggest heartbreak that he had ever known.

Teenagers always think they are ready to make their own decisions, but if given the opportunity to do so, they would crash through years like a train wreck and leave nothing but mistakes behind in their wake.

According to MichaelFairmansoaps.com, Guy Wilson is replacing Chandler. He's ok, but he's no Chandler. :( Chandler is, yum, lol, I can't even describe it. Do you remember those scenes a couple of years ago when they were at the beach and he was shirtless? Omg. lol Swoon. ;) I better start catching up before they take the last year off YouTube. lol

I stopped watching for a long time. I didn't start watching again until around the time Rafe was being held captive and they had a twin Rafe who was being mean to Sami and I think that was in 2011.

Well, that is one way to kick a reader into submission.....

Certainly drove the hook in and got my curiosity piqued. The one thing that kind of lept out at me was the originality in the names.

Niceeee. :)

Lol I was very happy with the prologue, I kind of hoped it would be the hook. And thank you for the names. Made them up myself, though I am sure others have used them as well, some where!

Wow! That hit between the eyes! Sure was an excellent hook! I don't understand Lisa's review at all - but you do, so guess that's all that matters. So here I am starting Book 1 before I pick up Book 2 again. Looks like I'm in for an interesting ride. Looking forward to it greatly. Glad I found this read! Thanks for writing.

Lol the prologue, I've been told it was a grabber many times. I guess it's not a bad thing.

Not my usual stuff, but I'm gonna give it a try. The 'australian' tag caught my eye and so I looked in. Sounds like this might be a scary ride. You certainly paint a picture with few words!

Scary ride? Hmm, maybe! Lol for a little bit. This story has a little bit of everything. Horror, Action, Drama, I think a little bit of it all. Though through all of it, deep down, the story is really just about a kid with a lot of psychological issues who gets caught up in a lot of trouble.

Thing about this story is to stick it out and see where he ends up because through all the thrills and the trauma, it's the results and the consequences of it all that the story is really all about. That is why the prologue is there like it is, you have to find out what leads to that and more importantly...what the prologue actually is, violent for sure, but how do they get there? Why? And who? Aside from Jaemin and Miracle, of course. And what happens after?

I will leave you with this little spoiler. The ending, it's the type of ending where...you can accept that as the stories ending, or you can go on to read the sequel, which you can find in my story list.

As for the Australia bit, I hope that is not the only thing that draws you in, as you go into it, I hope you are drawn in further. Australia really doesn't play a huge role in the story, it was more of an accessory to the character, a place of origin and a way to give him a really hot accent. I love Aussie accents!

It was a great opening prologue, and yes to all of the above, I want to know how they got there, who was in the car, what the hell happened.

From a writing styles point of view it has to be the best ever use of a prologue to introduce a story. Usually I hate prologues, they are boring information dumps for writers that need you inside their universe before they can continue with the story. This was different, the exception, more like the movie that starts with the scene near the end, the book will now show us how the protaganists arrived there, and take us past, to the ending, brilliant!

The movie metaphor is a good one, I take a lot of inspiration from how movies are set up and so many have that type of beginning which is really either something much later or at the very end but you only see enough of it to realize you have to watch the whole movie to get there and see the bigger picture. Mostly because when i am writing I picture it as a movie in my head and figure out a way to translate that into a story, it seemed like a good hook but I don't think I realized how good it actually was until I put it out there and I am thankful for that.
