Poetry Prompt 2 - Haiku

AC Benus

Here's my own attempt, as I rarely write Haiku

Nature Haiku:

A poppy amongst

The bushes of rose, will bow

When a chill winds blows.

Urban Haiku:

Shy dog and hydrant

Stand off 'neath the noonday sky –

Which one will get wet?

I love the nature haiku: I always think poppy looks as if it shivers in a cold wind and its petals slightly  crumple. Nice contrast between the sturdy roses and the slim fexible poppy.

Ahh but there is no shy dog when there are hydrants around, lol. Funny picture though.

On the hydrant, i was thinking bout my Airedale's first reaction to seeing one when he was only 12 weeks old. Thanks for the feedback!  I love and appreciate your poppy comments too

Lovely. I love your internal rhyme in the haiku on nature. Just adds to the picture.

And the urban one is a hoot and such a vivid picture too.

Loved the nature, a poppy amongst the roses.. lovely.

I've seen a pic of your dog, the airdale.. and well at 12 weeks it would be him or the hydrant...

Both of these worked so well!!
