Looks around and doesn't see anyone. Well, then I guess I have the prompt page for a moment. Renee is off so I'm slipping in to introduce the prompts to everyone. Happy Friday! It's been two weeks since you were given something new, but then last week you were all given the Fall Anthology - Blurred Edges. I do hope you read and commented on them. Missed them? Find them here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/blog/258/entry-15753-2015-fall-anthology-blurred-edges-now-live/

First up I have something new to tempt your creativity. Yes, once again I have a whole new set of prompts to tease you into writing something new, maybe even writing for the first time. Just a few things to remember: Prompt responses under 1,000 words must be posted as part of a collection.

Prompt 446 – Creative
Tag -List of Words
Use the following in a story – notebook, pen, coffee, a crystal, and a broken light bulb

Prompt 447 – Creative
Tag – The Gift
You haven’t been feeling well lately, but you still try to keep up with your normal routine. You’ve been asked to a party, and although you don’t feel well, you decide to go. The only request is that as a gift you give something homemade. What do you give as your gift?

Now looking back at the list of prompts there seem to be so many takers, not only of the prompts I create but of those AC Benus creates for the Poetry Prompts. After seeing all the different work that has been done, I figured it was only fair to highlight a bit of everyone's work that published since the last prompts were given to you. Enjoy them all.

Prompt 442 - You were asked to use a list of words. Well, author Puppilull decided to go back and continue his story about the vampire.

"Have you seen Duchess?"
I started at the shrill voice of my neighbor and just about dropped my keys after opening my door. She stood almost right behind me, far too close for comfort. I briefly thought she might be a vampire too, since she moved as quietly as my houseguest. I dismissed the thought suppressing a smile. You never smiled at Mrs. Simons, unless you wanted to spend endless amount of time talking about the most boring things in the universe, mainly her cat. I wouldn’t be surprised if that creature showed up one day with a diamond necklace, it was that spoilt.

The rest of his story can be found here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/puppilull/puppilullspromptresponses/2

Prompt 444 - You needed to use the first line given. This had a number of responses.

JohnAR continues the story of Meta here -

“Would you, please, go to sleep?” Emma begged her little son for the third time, so she could pack the suitcases. Little Arthur seemed to be determined to grouch through the night. Exhausted she took him out of his cradle. It seemed wolf pups suffered as much from first teeth as human babies. She chastised herself immediately. After all, before Arthur reached puberty he was exactly like a fully human baby. Sometimes she still doubted that her young son with the light hair and green eyes would turn into one of those furry wolves; but yesterday Seb had shifted again removing any disbelief she might be still harboring.

ATrueFan took a stab at this prompt as well.

“Would you, please, go to sleep?” I said to him only after nearly an hour of incessant prattle on random subjects.

“Why, don’t you love me?” He asked in his ‘whiny’ voice.

“You know better than to ask that… I love you more than life itself, but if I don’t get some sleep, that life won’t be very long.”

albertnothlit presents his story here.

"Hey, Mike. What's the matter?"
I rubbed my face with both my hands, trying to get rid of some of exhaustion, but I couldn't stop them from shaking. Felix noticed.
"Mike?" he asked me, his tone going from annoyed to concerned. "Is everything okay?"
"Yes. Yeah, I mean… Can I come in for a bit?"
My question ended up sounding whiny, but I couldn't help it. Felix nodded, stepping away from his door, letting me into his flat.

jamessavik added a new piece to this as well.

“Would you, please, go to sleep?”

Gary rolled over and said, "How did you know I was awake?"

Jerry snorted and said, "We're twins. When you lay there worrying , I know. So... spill it."

Gary sighed and said, "I don't know. I just feel like something is wrong. I can't really say what it is."

Jerry sat up. "I hate it when you do that."

Gary said, "Do what?"

And while there were a few takers for the prompts, the poetry prompts seemed to pop up as well.

Poetry Prompt 13 - Asked people to write a Ghazal. When asked, people attempted it.

Headstall's Ghazal -

I can feel you now, next to me
Locked in love is where I must be

You take all pain and dull its edge
With you I need no eyes to see

The rest is here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/headstall/headstallspoetryprompts/9

J HunterDunn's Ghazal -

that two souls can touch each other is a miracle
that a man can be one with a man: it is a miracle.

the sparks that became a flame still smoulder
after all the years one look is enough for the miracle.

The rest of his poem is here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/40736-poetry-prompt-13-%E2%80%93-ghazal/

Puppilull is back with this poem as well.

Connected beyond our frail consciousness
Through our bodies we can provide resistance

Separated by oppressing powers
Unimaginable evil that seeks to quell resistance

The full poem is here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/puppilull/puppilullspoetryprompts/9

Headstall took a second shot at the form.

Hairs on my body reach for you
My heart’s in tune with all you do

My eyes caress and search yours out
Like destiny they meet on cue

The rest is here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/headstall/headstallspoetryprompts/10

And one last Ghazal by Aditus.

You ask about my favorite color. Black.
And I look into your eyes. Black.

You wrap me into your mantel of stars,
a shiny river on my pillow. Black

I wish I had time to feature every story and poem, but the writers here are busy creating so many new pieces for the prompts. If you are interested in seeing and reading the rest please feel free to go to the writing prompts forum and read them. They can all be found here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/forum/97-writing-prompts/

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Remember to encourage each other. You can do this by reading, commenting, and liking the pieces you read. Have a great weekend and until next week and the next set of prompts, be safe and well.

Thanks, Comicfan, for linking to two of my poems. That's awesome. I just want to thank AC Benus for the inspirational (very) clip from the movie 'Bent' that inspired a bunch of us to take the prompt challenge, and write our Ghazals. Cheers... Gary.
