I'd like to thank all of the authors who participated in the April Fool's Short Story Contest! There were a lot of great entries and I'm sure it was hard to choose who to vote for. :D:D:D Wow! What a great thing thing to wake up to this morning! :D  Thank you so much to everyone who voted for my story :hug::hug:  I'm beyond thrilled that Peter's story resonated with so many people.

AC and Parker (along with many others) did a great job fooling us. ;)  Very tricky of AC to set the story in Europe and use European punctuation style.  I thought for sure Puppilull or JHunterDunn wrote it.  While Parker's story screamed "him", I thought someone else may have written it to make us think Parker wrote it... so hiding in plain sight was a good strategy.  lol  I'll have to re-read the stories when I'm home from vacation.

Cole was the greatest trickster of them all. The only story no one guessed the author for was Fool's Gold @Cole Matthews

Oh! Now that was a pleasant surprise! Thank you all who voted for my little experiment in writing a truly short story. I'm glad it worked even though I had to rein myself in to not write more.

Don't feel bad! It's only for fun. And I am seriously mathematically challenged, so I would never say anything when it comes to keeping score...

That was fun and I definitely agree on Downhearted as the winning story.

 

Thanks Renee and Reader for getting this set up and while I might not have placed highly, I've enjoyed writing a superhero story for the first time. I'm a huge closet case comic book nerd, :D

Do I have a Flaming S on my shirt showing or a fog light shining in the sky like a Bat? :o

 

What prompted the story, I think most people can guess was Old Man Logan with a dash of Watchmen. :D

Congrats to everybody who contributed a story, and especially to Val, Parker and Pup. You know, I suspected those stories would place top three, so it's nice to be in there amongst them :blushing:
