Dice, Dice, Who has the Dice?

I remember when I was actively playing AD&D and I needed dice.  They were so expensive back then.  $10 for 1 set.  You can now get 7 sets for that.  or 20 full sets for $30.  Crazy.

I've gotten Wiz dice before.  I have a few sets on all the desks I work at it.  They are great for randomizing things or using the handy roleplaying charts for writing details.  lol.

I definitely recommend these if you are dice obsessed.  Or if you like shiny objects.   Or if you like pretty baubles.  Or if you are looking for your own precious with little numbers on it.

My original dice collection was stolen. I had close to 100 complete sets, most of them from Chessex. My favorite was a set of crystal blue, with white numberings; which was also my first set. Luckily I still had those when the rest were stolen.

Now, I have a small selection of five sets, with each belonging to a specific character.

i love dice. i had so many, but some were stolen, some lost in moves. through it all i managed to keep the original dice from the boxed set that i got for Christmas 1980.

a funny dice story: our DM had close to 500 dice in varying shades of green and/or gold. lived in an apt with green/gold long shag carpet. (he loved green). we played on his dining room wooden (highly polished) table. he gotten a kitten who took a running flying leap onto the table. Chaos (kitten's name) slid down the table, hit the box with the dice showering us with dice. we would be fining dice for months, usually by stepping on them.

Anyone who has ever stepped on a d4, knows just how painful that is.

I've never played D&D or any similar games, but I like shiny things and pretty baubles and things involved in games.  I have no idea what d4 or any of that stuff means, but the pictures and descriptions make me wish I was a dragon so I could hoard them, gather them all in a giant pile, and take a nap on them.  :P

d4 is game lingo for a Die with 4 sides. It's basically a small pyramid, and it HURTS when you step on one, cause they will almost always be pointing up.

Hmm...

I threatened a fellow nerd with an "if only I could find my d20 (20 sided die)" threat. Maybe I could just buy a new and more me set of dice.

We wants it... the precious...

For the really serious type, grab the real shiny baubles...
