Very nicely written. It was a dreadful time indeed, and of course the poor man will do it again. The situation is similar to how religions reckon god has set up the world; make humans fallible, then punish them for failing.

First, I want to know where you found that anachronistic photo of Jaye Davidson. Second, I want to know what you are feeding your Muse that she is visiting you so often.

 

The statement, "I’m grateful that I must not go through this on my own" is so poignant. It captures centuries of oppression and loneliness in a few words. Brilliant. And so very, very sad.

 

It's not as sad as the story arc, however. Dolores has captured so many concepts, so many emotions, in so few words. Masterful writing. I need to cry.
