Well, sometimes these do really well and others crash and burn, but regardless, I thought it might be fun to have a thread to discuss Studly Ranch Hands. If you're trying to read Studly Ranch Hands and can't, it's most likely because you're not a Premium Subscriber.

Marc got what he’d wanted for years, but it’s enough to tear apart his friendship with Casey. Marc tries to avoid Casey, but that’s not always possible. A series of incidents puts both of their jobs on the line and Marc and Casey have to decide whether or not the resulting consequences are worth continuing their feud. Or can they put the past behind them and learn to work together as the team they used to be, and maybe even explore what's between them?

 

So, let's get started!!!! The Prologue and Chapter 1 have posted. What are your thoughts? What was your favorite part of either of the chapters?

I guess I wasn't surprised at the reaction of Mark's father, and Mark was prepared too. I hope we'll be told what he's been doing for the past seven years and whether he is still in touch with his mother.

As for the fight with Casey I'm guessing they either hooked up or met each other in a gay bar unexpectedly.They must both be in the closet and that makes me sad for Mark, when he was so determined not to live a lie seven years ago. I'd like him to be out and proud.

He definitely was prepared. That was a hard thing to write as I hate making a parent a "cliche" but unfortunately it was necessary for the story. As for the rest, I can't really say too much since that would give stuff that happens in later chapters away, but all those questions will have answers soon :) Thanks for joining me in the forum, Timothy!

I'm awaiting the next chapter. The prologue really got to me... yeah, the father's reaction might be somewhat cliche, but, unfortunately, cliches are often based on reality. I know someone who was 'disowned' by his dad. Boom... he was right out of the family business because his father 'didn't want to look at him.' So, it struck a chord with me. The violence between Mark and Casey was a good indication of the strength of feelings there. I think Casey is in denial, but I believe Mark might be living his truth... I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm already hooked....

Thanks for joining us, Gary! The prologue was hard to write, but it was necessary. It's amazing too me how that truly does happen, I mean, it's just ridiculous that some parents can do that. As for Marc and Casey, there is definitely a lot going on there for me to explore, so I hope you enjoy where the story leads :)

I hope so too! I debated starting one, but figured why not. Worst case scenario is it (as my niece said about her math test today) totally bombs. I hope you enjoy the story as you start reading :)

Like I said in my review on chapter one, I really am looking forward to see the family dynamics unfold from the prologue. The thought of them not being able to resolve anything for seven years bothered me, especially over something like that. I'm hoping that there was at least some resolution on the part of Mom and lil bro. Casey is also an interesting character, so getting into their lives a bit better will be interesting. :D

This latest chapter was a great intro to what is to come. I like the tension between Marc and Casey, but I wonder at how long it's gone on. Their bosses expect their plan to resolve this issue to work... I hope they're right. :)

Well, I predict they'll either end up friends again or killing each other. :o
