Being English and arithmetically challenged, not all well in some sections.    Not too bad in others.

I'm old but not as old as that test and since I last attended the eighth grade in 1961, I looked at it but didn't attempt it.  However, I bet an eighth grader back then couldn't type, use their thumbs to text, use a microwave, change a television channel, adjust the temp on the heating and AC system or a host of other tasks we take for granted....
