Not sure i'll be doing this, still haven't decided. I'm very behind on my projects and, well i'm not sure i'll have the time.  Have fun to those who decide to jump in ...

My NaPoWriMo 2017 starter....

To start
over again
means tentative gestures,
held-breath adventures to be sure
you're safe;
wary
will we circle one another,
joyous in our pairing,
knowing a start
will end.

Perfect start!

Do haikus count...? I might be able to swing it then.

Of course they do.  You can even do rhyming couplets... ;)  My first poem is a haiku ;)

I'm not sure yet, but I think my main theme this year will be movies (thinking of several poetry prompts).

First day: Going to the movies

Late as always, we rush inside,

Sorry!—step on feet in the dark,

find our seats: forty three, forty four,

the movie is about to start.

Fingers dig through buttered popcorn,

I laugh when your hand touches mine,

Trumpets sound. A long time ago...

And we leave our world—for a while.

I love it and can picture it very clearly.  If you're interested, I can forward you the daily prompts I have emailed to me.  I don't usually use all of them, but I find they can provide some good inspiration. :)

I have got goosebumps in my stomach as I was reading the second line of second stanza. Lovely image. I can see everything as I was reading your poem. Beautiful images. And congratulations on your first poem...

Wow. Simple and powerful. Just my type of poem. But if I had summoned Ben into me I'd say, look at the rules of the form. 0:) Just kidding. Nice one and congratulations on your first poem.

Terrific images, I know that movie. I want to bring the popcorn!
