  1. I'm back to work in about ten days. My hand is still numb and the scar on my wrist is still not healed and weeps a lot.

On a positive I'm trying to finish three of my incomplete works before I go back. I'm also adjusting to the fact that losing people sucks, but you need to adjust your life or you have problems spending so much time alone.

  2. Sort of crushed. Just found out a young man I knew, lost his battle with depression. Suicide is such an ugly thing. My heart hurts.

So sad to hear that. Depression is scary.

  3. Been working on three different projects. Guess what? I finished one. It is a story for the fall anthology. I know. Surprised the hell out of me too. Next step is to find a beta and editor. Wow,  not even close to the deadline. Go me.

Ha ha! That must be a shock! To be finished four months in advance! I'm impressed and curious about your story. Good to have something to look forward to come autumn.

  4. A month from today I return to work. Just hope things go well.

  7. The GA News Letter Pride Headline Stories came out today. If you haven't read them yet, why not? Remember to leave the authors a like and a comment. Never hurts to let the authors know you enjoyed their work.

  8. Don't ask why but I'm in the middle of writing a new Seer chapter. Some characters just like to pop back up.

  9. Anyone free that can look over a short story quickly. It's for the Pride Story Cia is running.

You're welcome, I look forward to finding out what your prompt headline was.

  10. I walked around the block and made it home without wanting to pass out. I just had to wait for the sun to nearly go down and the temp to drop. Can't wait to return to normal.

  11. Slowly doing what I need to.

  12. The last three weeks have been horrific, but I've survived. On Monday i was released from Stony Brook hospital where I had triple bypass on my heart. Hope to play catch up, but that is why anything associated with me has been dodgy.

  13. Home from work and writing.

  14. I was 3/4 of the way through my version of a story for the anthology. Unfortunately, I watched something which gave me a different idea and I'm starting over. Now I just hope to finish. Sometimes stupidity wins.

  15. If you haven't yet read the Idioms Are Real! Challenge stories yet, what are you waiting for? All so different and fun. Go read, leave a review, and give the author a like. Remember it encourages them to keep writing.

  16. Hoping to finish one of the projects I'm working on tonight . Wish me luck.

Came close. Need to redo part of it and then one of my anthology stories is done.

  17. Had a tooth crack yesterday and had it pulled today. Really sore, but feeling better. Onwards and forwards.

  18. Any up for a little beta work? Finished my piece for the idiom story and need a beta and editor if anyone is free. Thanks.

Maybe we could do a switcheroo? I've got a 2k idiom story that could use some extra eyes.

  19. I've started three different stories for the anthology so far. Hoping that I finish something for it. Maybe I should do a prompt story to focus on something else for a bit. Wish me luck.

I have two shorts and my antho story battling for attention. So of course I wrote a prompt! Funny how writing works. No matter how you get the words flowing, it makes them more cooperative.

  20. Sometimes all you can do is keep your head up, smile, and let the world wonder.

  21. So just over seven years with this site as of yesterday. I've grown so much and still try to be active here. Even if I don't publish all the time, and with my eyes lately it isn't easy, I'm still plugging away. I'm so grateful for the support of the readers, the site admins, and I'm very lucky to have worked with those who have been my beta and editors. GA is the place I call home. Thank you all.

  23. Every once in a while, you have to remember to have fun. You only go around once, so might as well make your mark.

  24. I have Saturday off. So naturally I fall on my way home Friday night. Knee is swollen like a golf ball. My luck is that of Charlie Brown!

Somehow golf ball gives the image of really small knees. I hope you're taking good care of it.

  25. I feel like the last man standing. Half of the staff at my job is out sick. Really need a day off, or better yet, a vacation.

Vacation? What is this thing you speak of?

    2. comicfan

@Kitt I've heard tales of them, but want to find out if they are true for myself.

    3. VampireMystic

It's  this thing where you give up making money at your job in order to go somewhere that isn't your job, and stay there for an extended period of time.

It sounds like being unemployed, but at the end of it, you get to go back to your job, and it's like you were never gone.

Take heart friends, I know it's real because I took one.

Now, the thing I want to know if it's real, is thing called "paid vacation."

And what is "paid time off?'

I know leaving when you're sick, but what is "sick leave?"

Who is IRA and what does he have to do with work?"

      What are benefits?
