CarlHoliday's stories fall primarily into two classes: sci-fi stories of a distant future where humanity is still plagued with violent warfare and religious bigotry; and, modern stories about characters facing and overcoming significant psychological challenges. Adversity, physical or mental, is a common theme through most of the stories. There is also a endearing quality to a lot of the stories as you see young gay men grow through the troubles they endure. I'm having a blast working on new stories, working with other authors on their art, and planning new ventures. There is a plan in place to travel to Florida this summer for a fact finding mission for the next novel. I like to use the setting as a kind of background character for this upcoming story.

I've now completed a few novels and want to continue writing short stories, which I find helps hone my skills. I'm taking more time and building storylines and characters.

While admitting a debt to a youth wasted on fantasy and role-playing games, his goal is to bring fresh heroes, villains, and ordinary people into worlds different, but not so different, from our own.

The two stories I've authored on thus far, WORKING IT OUT (completed) and BELOVED (in progress), can be classified as "growing up gay" works, I think. The protagonist(s) are outed or come out to family and friends, sometimes moving then from questionable support or lack of support for their orientation among significant others into strong commitments which permit them to mentor other gays. Religious affiliations of the heroes and their real or adoptive families are portrayed as supportive of gays, who often seek formal recognition and blessing of their relationships in the Church.

While most of Graeme's stories are drama or romance, amongst his many tales you can find a little bit of everything, including comedy and science fiction. Often these come in a different point of view: from the father or brother of a gay son, the mother of a suicide, through the guy who learns his friend is gay. The narrator can also range from a character who may or may not be insane to an alien observing a human relationship, so he has something for everyone!

When I grew up, there weren't any heroes I could relate to while I tried futilely to hide the person I am happy to be today. I finally found my voice, the voice that says it all right to revel in the so-called inappropriate joys, laughs and loves that storm inside my head, and I can't wait to share them. It took a long time to find that courage and now that it's here, I plan to use it well.

Valkyrie is new to fiction writing and finished her first serial in May 2014. Her work generally centers on flawed individuals who tend to go through some pretty tough times before reaching their happily ever after; if indeed, they do reach it. She is a big fan of animals, especially cats and horses, and they feature in quite a few of her stories. She is also a fan of sappy romance; although she tries to keep that to a minimum in her writing.
